Honestly, how bad is driving noise with mud tires?

""mud tires = being a man? Sounds like you're trying to compensate for something""

Thats the very reason I have never needed 'mud tires'. = (: .

Ram-Man17, how many miles did you get from the 'mud-graps' before you got some else that didn't burn up so fast?

"Note; Noise =s heat, wear, replace soon with most stuff." I know, pipes last a little longer.

I'm running the Pro Comp Xtreme M/T and love the sound. They are louder than the HP's that came off, but then again the exhaust is louder, and the CB antenna has a little whistle to it on the highway. It's all just part of the symphony of sounds and I love it.

The only down side I've come across is throwing rocks, dirt, etc. significantly more. Not a problem for me, I'm in the truck, but for those around you...

Try cooper discoveries. My friend has them on his 2005 power wagon. And they are very quite, and work well off road, and during winter time too.

Cooper discover ST's or STT's are both great tires. I've had both can't say anything about longevity since i tend to flip vehicles alot but definately a nice tire and reasonably priced. The ST's are more of a AT tire but more aggresive looking than the BFG all-terrain and the STT's are there mud terrain. Both are pretty quiet also..Good luck I went through the same thing with my first "real tire" purchase but once you see what they do for the truck all the other worries just dissappear.

Mud tires hummm fact of life!! Trucks are big, loud and get crappy gas mileage. If we wanted quiet and cute we would have bought electric cars or smart cars!! But seriously they do make more noise than a standard road tires some are worse than others. However they are damn fun in the mud!!!Name: smart-monster-car.jpg

I've been lookin at the nitto mt's or mickey thompson baja claws. I'm not worried about the noise. I'm goin for looks. lol. But as mentioned its all what you can tolerate and are willing to put up with for perfomance and looks.

i would go with wrangler mtrs, toyo mts, nitto trail grapplers. The nitto mud grapplers are intolerable if you dont need them, on the highway you cant hear yourself think........ also a tire to think about is the firestone MTs they have a very good wear life.
