Single to Dual exhaust

Single to Dual exhaust
How much of a PITA is it to change the SI/SO exhaust to a dual exhaust? Would I just have to buy the mopar production dual exhaust or have a replica custom bent and installed or is there a little more to it than that?
I am about to put a magnaflow on and am contemplating just biting the bullet and changing the bumper and going to a dual setup while I am at it....I thought about dual side outs behind the rear wheels but I like the look of the notched bumper and rear outs.
Any opinions either way? Pros for going dual or Pros of staying single out?
Thanks

i think a split rear exit would look unique on these trucks. All you see are the dual out the back but I have not seen one with the dual out the sides yet. Pro for going dual is you throw sound out both sides of the truck so people walking along both sides of the road can hear the great hemi sound.

I have the duals out the stock side and like that look better than them both coming out the rear. The only negative thing is I seemed to have lost a little power off the line, but on the plus side the truck has more mid range and top end. Through some research I have found that some people have lost torque when switching from single swept side exhaust to duals. Knowing what I know now I would have just purchased the Magnaflo 24'' with the 3'' inlet and outlet and kept my torque.

I spoke to a Gibson exhaust tech and he told me that the size of the pipe exiting ( dual 2 1/2'') should never be that much larger then your inlet (SINGLE 3'')pipe size. So if we add it up the dual set up is actually 5'' outlet vs our 3'' inlet. I haven't researched this any further and eventually will go back to the single swept side exit. I do know that Gibson exhaust does recommend the single swept side for more low end torque. My truck just seems flat off the line when I changed the exhaust.

LOL at the experts.
Putting two pipes on exit of a single muffler is not going to do anything but change the sound and look. Your back pressure is not caused by the tail pipe. It is caused by the muffler (and cats). That is what you need to be concerned about.
With all that said I prefer rear exit duals from the simple standpoint of dual side exit results in a lot of crap sticking to your tips. I would not worry about the cut outs in the bumper, just tuck it up close to the bumper, it will look good.

My point behind the look is dual out the rear, or even sides, does look good (better than stock single side). The cut outs would look better, but unless you have cash to burn the cut outs do not equal the cost for what you are getting.
As for the "flow". Just answer one question.... What is the bottle neck of the flow of your exhaust?
Another thought, if you are looking at investing $$ for a bumper why not take that money and make something more unique, like the pic below (cut out in bed).
Last I want to say when I said LOL at the experts I was referring to the comment Gibson made. None of us are experts.
To me, these look better than stock and if I had to choose I would do this before investing in a cut out bumper unless I could find a used one cheap.
