It's a cap.

B32, thanks for serving! Leer and ARE are your best bets, I personally favor the Leers. Best bet is to look over their websites and see what tickles you fancy.

oh thats easy..... If you put one on your truck it makes the driver look like an old fart. Most Chevy owners install caps and hoverround lifts.

Just my opinion

See I need one as my Husky will have to go in the back in a crate although I have seen materiel type caps/tops.... That can be folded away. Also I have seen a cover that's as high as the cab and covers about 1 mtr. PS I'm in the British Army based in Germany so I don't have all the answers as this truck is alien to all of us, I just can't wait to park next to the Nissan Navaro that I see on camp/base!

Cheers Ramalak, lets face it they don't look great but still it'll do a cracking job.

I bet I'll get charged $500 in shipping.

I'm kicking around the idea of the Bestop http://www.bestop.com/index.php?s=53

or the A.R.E. MX http://www.4are.com/product/mx/

I want something back there when I get my truck. I've had toppers/shells (whatever you want to call them) on other trucks I've owned, and they're great for what I want. Secure space to put stuff when on trips or moving (and I move a lot), they're great for camping when the weather gets nasty, and it makes a nice covered spot to put the dog when (not if) he gets wet & muddy. I like the ones that have a higher roof than the cab...those few extra inches make a big difference when you're crawling around in the bed.

But for day to day driving, they do make it tougher to see out the back of the vehicle...biggest pain is in parking lots. Which is why I'm considering the soft option by Bestop. But then I'd lose the security and headroom.

If the Ram I've got on order were going to be my daily driver, I would probably go with the soft topper or a soft tonneau cover. But I've got the daily driver duties covered with my VW, so the truck will be used more for foul weather, camping, and moving...all situations where a hard topper would be better. But that soft top would be soooo sexy on a silver Ram with some black wheels, blacked out trim, maybe some bedliner on the rocker panels & fender flares....

SoldierGuy,

Yep what you've said kind of backs up what I've been thinking so I'll get the Bestop and get a cover for day to day driving, the parking lot (car park) issue is one I thought of I had a Mits Pajero (Shogun) LWB, which I got caught in a multistory car park as the German car lots are very small compared to the UK one's certainly which surprises me as their cars are generally bigger than UK one's. So I am used to driving bigger cars but non quite this size.

Anyway I just had the call from my dealer who said I can see it tomorrow but won't be able to collect until next week.
