Dodge Hemi 7.4
F150 8.4

The Ram was rated as the best truck of the four tested, but obviously not on the basis of speed alone.

Been alot of peoples times posted here over the last 2 years with track tickets to support them. The Ram CC 4x4 with 3.92 does alot better than 7.4 0-60. Seen quite a few times in the very low 6's and mid to high 5's. Not to mention that the Ram tested was also running 20" tires, not so good for times.

Just funnin here...I say half truth because you say you race your truck...well then you would know as well as me what low gears feel like from a dig as compared to the 3.23 that was most likely the Ram they used. All Tundras come with 4.10 and 4.30 gears and The Ram comes with sucky 3.23 all the way to 4.10 in the RT. Mine is a RCSB with 3.92 gears and yours if a RSCB is 4.10 or 4.30 if it is a QC. My truck has 17 in rims with 30.5 in tall tires which gives me just as good a hole shot as the RT and the 4.30 Tundra. I have to admit that the Tundra looks good and comes close in looks and performance to the Ram. And though I haven't raced in some time...I've spanked every 5.7 Tundra I've raced (one could have been yours...Tundra bashing, har har!) Now about my final thoughts of who you are...I still think you are with these Ford guys, lol! How else would you get picked to be a driver to represent the Ram in these test? I can't believe that they would use anything but or just anyone off the streets to do this even if you do own a Tundra. So you work for Ford and own a Tundra...wise decision, but you still work for Ford, lol! I watched the video where you said you peeled out lost traction and you didn't and I listened to the low rpm's off the line, I know what I see..you never tried to win. I also saw that you let up as the Ram began to pull up on the Ford...so spare me Mr. nice guy, lol! These test are set up in their favor and you come here to slap the Rams in the face with these fake videos, lol! Naturally the new Fords are fast with the new motors, but 20 HP more doesn't constitute a **** poor race like in these vids Ford Man, lol!!! So with all do respect...
haha. thanks I honestly don't know much about gearing at all, never payed attention. I do know I have a DCSB 5.7 with the 4.30 gears. I run a 14.8 in the quarter, which isnt too impressive, but mainly its for playing around. With 18in rims and 33in tires it slows it down a bit.

And I do not work for Ford. you guys can all check out the website, drivef150.com. I wasn't picked at all, I just went on and signed up. Obviously its made to make the Ford's look good, but I still had fun being able to test drive the other vehicles. I CHOSE the Ram because I liked it best. The handling through the turns was comparable to none, amazing.

The speed was there too, its just that Ford probably chose the lowest grade ram they could to slow it down, although it was a crew cab hemi, not RCSB. And I did let off early, because the lane dipped at the end. We were racing in the parking lot at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, MD. Not exactly a prime racing surface.

So no, I do not work for Ford, and never will, but I just enjoyed the oppurtunity to tear up some $60,000 trucks. Again, check out the website, drivef150.com, and if they are coming to your city sign up please!!

I enjoy having some fun poked at me, so keep it coming, I will not get pissed off.

I have owned Ford for over 30 years and have owned everything from a Ranger to a F350 DRW and I used to bash Ram every chance I got well after a falling out with a Ford Dealer I said to heck with Ford and purchased my first Ram 3500 HD DRW,only because I would not take a Chevy if it was given to me, another story for another time.

I am here to say I have ate plenty of CROW since I got the Ram, it is the best truck I have ever owned, it pulls better than any of the Ford's I have ever owned!! As for the engine it has more power and better gas milage than any of the Super Duty's I have owned and it has more features than the Ford ever had!!! Just the Exhaust Break is enough for me!!

As for the 2011 Ford well I would never buy a first generation engine again, learned my lesson with the 6.0 and then the 6.4 and a 29 Gallon fuel tank is just a joke for a large truck, my wife's Volvo XC90 has a bigger tank than that 2011!!!!

To sum up my little rant to me Ford is second best and I should have purchased a Dodge Ram long ago and not wasted so much money and time on those Ford's!!!!

So, did the Ram feel like it actually had 3.92s in it, or 3.55s? Whose to keep Ford honest? The 6.2, well lets see, it's a good deal bigger, wonder how it would do against a 6.2 Hemi? I say 6.2 only cause that's an apples to apples comparison. The 6.1 is strong, maybe ok for an R/T Ram, but the top end rpm that engine kinda makes it not a very good truck engine. Well, the challenger will get the 6.4, it I'm sure would spank the 6.2! Maybe someday it'll be in a truck! I can't see the Ecoboost getting 30 mpg...maybe @55 with 3.15 gears and smallest tires (30") they can get, 4x2 supercab high 20s on 91 oct, hit an incline it'll need to downshift!

as far as gears in Tundras, they are not based on cabs. It is whether you have the trailer tow package gets you 4.3s with a 5.7 and 4.1s with the 4.6. Other wise for the 5.7 and 4.6 the gears are 4.1 and 3.9

05 DAKOTAHO: with what, your 3.55s? I don't have that problem, I got 3.92s, and the big *** TRX4 tires and I have some of the steepest hills, not inclines, in northwest Arkansas, southwest Missouri. It'll barely downshift @70 mph from Branson to Springfield...and I run 89 oct, (91 oct, lol!)

Good point about 70 mph. Most of my driving is winding hilly roads at 50-60mph.

Once I was doing 85mph on the interstate and tucked in behind an 18 wheeler with MDS engaged the whole time.

My friend here in my town has a Tundra 5.7 regular cab with 4.10 gears. The Toyota 5.7 regular cab short beds do not come with 4.30 gears...only 4.10 unless it's been recently changed in 2011.
