I am thinking of adding a 1.5" or a 1" coil spacer to the rear to go with the Mopar 2.5" front leveling kit. Does that sound good?

Yeah man, that's all I was thinking as well. I would like to raise the rear just an inch with better springs. I think those springs that Top Gun is selling will be better used on a 4 inch lift kit. I think they are marketing it wrong right now with trying to sell it with a leveling kit. People by leveling kits to level the truck not lift the whole thing. I think guys like you and me want the level stance but don't want the rear to sag. There is a company out there that has springs for about $400 bucks that raises the rear only one inch and is considered an HD spring. This is whay I haven't done anything to mine yet. I can;t decide between the three option's I want to go with. I think I really want to hook up my boat and see how bad it sag's before I go buying stuff I may not need. I think if you tow a lot then you need the springs and if you are a weekend tower then the Airbag's are probably the way to go.

Those are all very difficult options to decide between. I do like the idea of making our dodge's stronger in the rear with HD springs while getting our level stance back. However, $400 is at the same time sort of steep for only needing 1 inch. Its tough to say, I obviously would prefer having the springs over a spacer and an airbag. That was my other question, and you may have already eluded to it, but is it true that the Firestone airbags will not work with a spacer in the rear? If the airbags do work with a spacer, then I think that seems to be the most economical way of going about it, then again, nice structural coils are nice too, just 2.5 times more $$$! Tough saying tho. As it stands now , I have ordered the air bags from Firestone just to have them around in case I decide to put them in, and plan to just get a 1 inch spacer for the rear. I did some measurements today on the ram, and I think that is whats needed. I will post pics tho with a floor jack.

I called Firestone about this and got two different answer's. Maybe Jayman can help us on this. The way I see it is the bags have some kind of plate on the top and bottom. I do not know if that goes against the inner spring or the top an bottom plate that houses the spring. I would think if it rest's on the spring then your fine, if it rest on the plates then I do not think it would work with the spacer. Once you get your bags it should be easier to see and will probably answer the question for us.

Here is my truck if it were to have the 2.5" front leveling kit, and a 1.5" rear spacer. I think its perfect. A subtle rake, and then if the airbags work still even better. However, I can certainly see why some feel as though the leveling kit by itself is not the exact look we're after, because the top of our hoods create a discrepancy in a counter-rake. Plus if you tow even the slightest, like I was just about to in this picture, your going to want some rake for proper stability when towing. Simple physics right there. I will say though that a lot of these fine details are subjective from person to person. Really just about any way you cut, a leveling kit is going to make our trucks look meaner. I think any kind of spacer, even as small as 1/2inch would be fine too, the earth has so many contours to it that there are always going to be angles that we would like to change, but the point of the lift is to just get our hoods off the damn ground. Good luck to everyone who is also going in with me on the leveling kits. Also, I may run the tires I have now for winter, and upgrade in the spring.

If you are running the stock rear springs with a spacer then I cant see why you couldnt also use the firestone bags. http://www.fsip.com/pdfs/RR/installation/4185.pdf That is the link to the install of the bags in our coils. There is a plate on top and bottom to help protect the bag from the top and bottom of the coils. So like I said if you lift the rear with spacers and keep the stock rear springs in place then you should still be able to use the bags. If you get aftermarket or taller rear springs then I would not go with bags. And like I said before the bags made a world of difference in my truck. Before I would haul about 500 to 600 pounds of seed in the back and it would nearly sit on the ground. Now that I have the bags it only sags about 3 to 4 inches with a full payload.

It's called the "Death Wobble" my friend. It only seems to happen on certain trucks. There is no explanation fo it. The only way to correct it is to take it out and return it to stock or install a 4" lift kit.

How much is the mopar leveling kit and what is the dealership charging to install. Seems like they should charge .6 hours as it isnt the most complicated thing to install
