I'm pretty pumped now and the service is really great there since its not where i bought the truck and also haven't seen anybody since i dropped the truck off after hours. Happy with the service so far.

Any info on the fix?
I getting tired of my wierd noise, let us know what they(dealer) did?

Well actually the truck is still in the shop. It's been almost 2 weeks i think. I actually called them tuesday and he said they changed the torque converter everything went well but then they had to order a TCM i think he said. The problem was the truck wasnt reading what gear the truck was in after they installed the new torque converter, so they ordered a new TCM and will replace that.

Kind of works out since im actually working out of town so i dont need my truck, but i'm gonna call him tomorow and it should be ready for me to pick up on friday. Then i will see if that solved the problem, i will know with just 2 min in the truck ill be able to tell right away that's how noticable it was. Pretty impressed so far good service even though its taking long, but that's mostly due to shipping of parts.

Hopefully this fixes my problem then hopefully give all you guys' stealerships an idea at where to look at. As soon as i get her back i will post the results right away!

Mine still makes this annoying bad bearing groan at partial throttle towing. Dealer was not helpful. Please let us know if this fixed your problem.

If they just reinstalled a new factory TQ, i bet you`ll still have the same noise.
I`ve been thru this with 2 different 2010 hemi trucks...neither truck was fixed...noise was still there.
They pretty much told me to live with it with both trucks....NOT...!!!!!!!!
The factory TQ`s are JUNK...!!!!

A good quality aftermarket TQ was the only fix i found to correct it

Yeah well it's worth a try and its better than getting a 'live with it' answer. When i got my truck new it didn't do it till about 30 000kms. So i'll see what happens.

So are you saying you got an aftermarket TQ on your truck and that fixed your problem?

Did they at least order you the (higher stall) RT convertor?

I don't know what they put back, i'm assuming it was the same as i had before i don't see why they would spend extra money for a better one, and i didn't know there were options.

Well i got it back today and it feels good to have it back, but unfortunately the sound is still there just like before, not any worst nor any better. So i conclude it was not the torque converter doing that noise for me anyways. But seems to ride a lil better for shifting but i won't know truly until i start towing again. So whatever ill deal with the sound and ill just have to get used to it unless it gets worst. Crank up the tunes. Didn't cost me nothing except for labour for having to take part of the lift kit off since chrysler won't pay for it since the work involved some aftermarket parts. 200$

Sorry if i got anybody horny with this fix, but it didn't do the trick.

Now if it's something that is abnormal, but occurs in all 2011's, I'm layig odds that Chrysler will look pretty heavily at the cost of fixing it vs not...

I prefer to think of it as a "purr"....
I recently drove a demo 2011 Ram 1500 Hemi before I ordered my new truck two weeks ago, and noticed some noise at partial acceleration. Personally I thought it sounded like the fuel injection system noise to me.

I saw your latest thread that the stock replacement TQ didnt fix the problem. I already knew it probably wouldnt.
Yes, i had a aftermarket TQ put in, no more rattly sound. (now is very smooth and now has firmer up shifts)
Definatley alot less slippage as well. (slightly higher stall speed, i would guess approx 200/250rpm higher)
As for the TQ i put in, i have a friend who works for a TQ company, he built the one i have in my truck.
No, i wont give out his info or price he charged me, so please dont ask. (he did it for cost as a favor to me)
All i will say is, that it definatley fixed the problem.

hay guys i think i have the same issue, the noise is hard to explain but with light pressure on throttle as soon as it goes in overdrive so 1500rpm or so just before mds kicks in I can hear this weird noise coming from the engine almost sounds like the computer isn't sure to put it in 4 or 8 and when it goes in eco noise goes away
