I have put hids in factory light housings several times and have had great success without projectors. I personally dont like projectors that much. I have seen several vehicles with projectors running hallogen bulbs from the factory, which is very dumb I think. I have decided to put in HID's in my ram without projectors. A guy in my neighborhood has a 2010 ram with HIDs and no projectors and there is no glare at all. They look great.

The only way I would do projectors is if I was doing a custom headlight system from JJ @ Retro or if I had a custom truck. I dont see any reason to have projectors on stock looking truck unless you just like them.

I'm sure I will get slammed for saying this, because everyone is going to say that hids blind drivers without projectors........ My answer is tough, if my lights are to bright, you are to old.............I use to run KC daylighters and if I met a car that didnt dim their headlights, they got a windshild full of KC lights...... Me being able to see good at night is more important that making everyone else on the road happy. :~}

And guess what. WITH projectors you can see better bc they focus the light properly as opposed to scattering it like you do now.

And even worse than that is putting HIDS in the fogs!!!!

That just shows the "all about me, screw all others" attitude.

Better hope I don't see you or you'll get a faceful of TL high beam.

Projectos cost way to much and I don't see them making a HUGE difference over just having the hids. I will admit that they are better, but are they worth a extra couple hundred bucks? Not to me.... If you are wanting the best bang for the buck hids are they way to go. Projectors may be nice for thoes who like them, but I just can't see any reason for me to spend the extra $ when I have had such good success with just using the hids and I like they way they look without projectos.

I plan to put hids in the highs, lows, and fogs..... Just like I had on both of my cadillacs...... And I do not have a "all about me, screw all others" attitude. If you are willing to pay for my projectos I will gladly put them in. ;-) I already have a quote form JJ

Wait until YOU cause an accident with that "all about me, screw all others" attitude.
Hopefully, you`ll get some tickets from your local cops to change you attitude before you cause an accident from all the glare you create by just popping in HID bulbs in a stock headlight bucket.

I did not join this forum to argue with anyone. I have an opinion just like everyone else, but I do not bash and insult others just because they don’t agree with me.

I don’t tell people who have tinted windows that they have a “screw the cop’s attitude”
I don’t tell people who have aftermarket mufflers that they have a “screw the environment attitude”
I don’t tell people who have lowered their trucks that they have a “fear of heights attitude”

I don’t expect people to make judgment calls about me either!!!!!!!!!

stump3r asked a question and I gave my opinion. And my opinions are

1. Projectors are not worth the extra $ unless you just love the way they look.
2. It is not illegal to run HID lights without projectors.
3. Some vehicles come from the factory with HID lights and NO projectos.
4. I have ran some form of aftermarket lights in every vehicle I have owned since 2002 and no one has ever complained about me blinding them. Every comment I received was positive.

Stump3r, get what you want and what makes you happy. Don’t let others bully you into thinking that you have to follow their advise or you’re are a disgrace to society.

Huh?

Its more of a screw the neighbors and everyone else who has to listen to your loud *** truck attitude.

As for the lights, I agree with others here. Unfocused HIDs are a hazard on the road and really tick on coming traffic off.

Not quite sure I understand the "if my lights are too bright you're too old" statement - I'm old and can see fine with the stock headlights, does sound like you might need your eyes checked though
