To the OP - I've run silver stars in past trucks and they seemed better than stock. I don't really notice the burn out times since I seem to have to replace headlight bulbs every 2 years or so no matter what - probabally since I always leave for work before its light so they get more use than a lot of folks.

As for the lights, I agree with others here. Unfocused HIDs are a hazard on the road and really tick on coming traffic off.

Not quite sure I understand the "if my lights are too bright you're too old" statement - I'm old and can see fine with the stock headlights, does sound like you might need your eyes checked though
Aftermarker mufflers let more exhaust into the air than factory so I am sure the green people hate them. Neighbors also may hate them. The point I was making is that there is no need to insult people on here.

You are correct, I have an eye condition that I have had since birth and I don't see as well as others, therefore maybe this is why I feel that I need brighter lights. I dont do it to harm people.

I see HIDs coming down the road all the time at me and I never think to myself "Bastards didnt use projectos"

And Toby: cars that are FACTORY hid without projectors those reflectors are SPECIALLY MADE just for hid to ensure proper spread. Halogen reflectors are meant for haligen. If you put HIDS in halogen reflectors YOU ARE GLARING AND BLINDING PPL!!!!! No getting around that. Halogen reflectors cannot properly focus hid light bc the focal point of the bulbs is not the same.

I would like to see a side by side comparison of the quad light system ram one with projectors and one without projectors. I have looked closely at a 2010 with hids WITHOUT projectors and I see no major glare. I see bright lights, but they look no different than most cars I see running HID lights. I would venture to say that the ram headlight housing doesn’t glare as bad as other light systems. I will post pictures of mine once I get the hids in. And see how bad the glare is.

I would really like to see if anyone has done a side by side of hids in a RAM with and without projectors....... I am going to see what I can find out on this.

I get it........ Projectors are dumb and I will never have them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone who buys into this projectors are a MUST have are the Tools.......

I dont care who uses them and who doesnt, just dont base me for not. I dont care for projectors, they are unnecessary, not illegal, and not required; therefore, they are not going on my truck!

If you really wanna see glaring hid kits please visit hidplanet.com

They have a 40+ page thread called the Hid fail gallery. ALL PNP hid kits.

Don't believe me?
Register on hidP and ask if projectors are worth it!!

It sounds to me you know they are but really wanna make yourself "feel better" about blinding others. But like you said you don't give a rats butt about other motorists so I'm wasting my breath.

I held MY tongue on this thread LONG ENOUGH! This thread is cracking me up over here....LOL...

projectors are dumb?? Really...your out of your mind dude...

drive by another truck (f150, chevy, ram) and see the amount of light they spread out I am in my truck and it blinds me. If they are dumb why do auto manufactures put them on cars/suvs from the factory......Projector headlights work by helping to evenly distributing your lights in front of your car. This is done by the placing of a glass/plastic sphere in front of the bulb.

Not basing you for not having them, quite frankly I don't care if you have them or not.....but clearly you have no idea what they do and why they do it! Get over yourself....just say'n

So since I have projectors I guess I'm the TOOL?? Sounds like someone is a little jealous they don't have projectors and deep down they really want them!

Here is the real deal with projectors.

The picture above is why you run projectors with HID's, the cutoff prevents blinding oncoming drivers without sacrificing light output. Now you can get close with some OEM housings but it isn't the same. There are a bunch of Rams in my neighborhood all running HID's and none of them (including me) have projectors. Not one of them throws any glare. Now there are a few Fords in the hood that have HID's and they blind you! The Ram OEM housings with HID's do focus not too bad and if properly adjusted will not blind on coming traffic.
I'm getting retro'd projectors just as soon as I'm done paying off Christmas as I want to bump up to a 55W setup and that kind of power needs to be properly focused.
The only glare issues with HID's and the 4th gen rams is from the fogs.
