What Oil are you using
That may not be the case. If it is the correct rated oil for the vehicle the OLMs are how its suppose to be done. The OLMs are pretty sophisticated. The manufacturer has not set them up for high mileage synthetics but the correct common oil. The system appears to work fine. No horror story's of engine failures out there following OLM systems. They are a godsend for thousands of people who ignored window stickers.
thats right, I had to show the service rep the owners manual so would understand me. The dealers are still pushing the 3k to make more money on oil changes.
Mopar Oil is supplied by Shell. According to Shell they get their premium conventional (Pennzoil).
Mopar Oil Filter is Purolator.
I had 8 Free Oil Changes coming.
1 Free Oil Change at Delivery (14 months and 2700 miles since build date with no way of knowing if a salesman reset the OLM).
6 Oil Change Coupons (36 Months Free Maintenance Dealer threw in as part of deal)
1 Courtesy Oil Change Coupon (Customarily sent after 1 month of ownership to introduce new owners to the service department).
I guess that means Pennzoil every 6 months (If OLM doesnt go off 1st). OLM doesnt keep up with time and warranty still limits maximum time to 6 months.
