Default re: gas tank

I wanted the 121L tank but have the 100L since I didn't special order. I was worried that the driving range would be too short with the small tank. I have yet to find having the 100L tank to be a problem as you can easily go 5 hours on the highway with this tank. Short trip driving should get you around +or-300 miles with this tank and highway +or-400 miles depending how you drive. Either myself or my kids usually need a pit stop before the tank is empty.

If i want the 121 liter gas tank along with running boards and box liner they would have to order it in and it takes 90 days to come from Dodge.

Anyone have the smaller gas tank and wish they had the larger one?

Do you think it would be cheaper to buy running boards and box liner from some place else?

Thanks for the help i really like this site.

You might not have to wait that long....
Have your dealer locate the accessories you want at another dealer. Easy for them to do.
I would definatley buy the factory running boards because they are made for the truck.
Aftermarket running boards have to be custom installed, which meens they probably wont bolt up to the original tapped/threaded body mounting locating holes that the facory boards do. Many yrs mounting aftermarket boards in the past was nothing but a headache, so save yourself the trouble and get the factory ones. If you haven`t purchased the truck just yet, make them throw in the boards in on the deal. That`ll save you a bunch of cash. If they wont do that, try to get them to give you the accessories for dealer cost. Any little bit helps sweeten the deal...!

Good Luck...!!!

My opinion, 6 gallons isn`t that big of difference to really worry about if you have the smaller tank.
Besides that, i read on most the forums, that guys with the bigger tanks complain about low levels of fuel slamming to the front of the tanks when you stop, causing a thump. Personally, i have yet to experience this low fuel thumping when stopping. Instead, what i feel, is the torque converter unlocking when stopped due to lame dodge tranny programing. It dosent do it all the time, but it hasnt gotten any better in 17,000 miles either, it still does it occasionally.

Mine didn't come with the bigger tank or running boards. The fuel tank hasn't bothered me a bit. The numbers from CT1 a few posts up are right on (300ish city / 400ish hwy). I used aftermarket boards and they bolted up to the stock locations. The install took about 30 mins from start to finish with a ratchet and a couple sockets. You'll save some money by doing the boards yourself if they're not already in the deal. Same with the bedliner. Mine came with a spray in. Its similar to rhino liner in that it's "grippy" and not completely hard.

IMO, if they can find you one with all that on it for the 35k price, do it. If you lose out on rebates by having to special order, just get one without and do the liner and boards yourself...

which aftermarket boards did you buy that bolted up the the stock location...????
I tried several companies and none bolted up correctly to the stock location.

Here's my post with pics. They're "gladiators" from Runningboard Warehouse.

well i did it, just ordered 2011 1500 sport from the factory. They said it will take 90 days to build.

I got the deep cherry one with boxliner, running boards, 121 liter tank and the Sport Premium Group.

I wanted the 430n radio but apparently you cannot get it any more as of Feb 20. They are only on the ones build already oh well i guess i saved 450 dollars.

They said i could get the 730 radio for 950 bucks. I don t think so.

Oh well now the wait is on. Great site

Thanks for the help guys.

Congrats! Sounds like it's going to be a beauty! You realize, we'll need to see some pictures when you get it, right???
