I got the AFE and noticed zero gains. Shoulda kept the stock setup and spent my money on something else.

The only colder air you can get besides where the stock air box draws in air is straight thru the front like the Vararam for the 3rd gen Hemi trucks. It draws air from just above the front bumper across the front or a functional ram-air hood.

I bought the K&N CAI 63 Series, didn't expect any difference, just wanted some noise under the hood!

I had a SRT 10 hood with the Ram-Air-Hood functional intake which matches up with the SRT 10 hood scoop on my 05 Ram Hemi. That was worth every penny spent, saw a almost 2 mpg over all average and very noticeable increase mid-power range, plus it sounded bad ***!

Yeah that's definately a true CAI and they look pretty cool! The IROC Camaro had a good cold air induction that looked pretty cool too. I like to design one like that for my truck...I had an 85.

You're right, most don't! But if you can get 4" of heat resistant breathing tube with minimum restricted bends and somehow get a good filter to the front of your truck, they will work!
