Default adding heated/ventilated seats

I came across a set of leather heated/ventilated seats which I would like to install in my '10 Slt Sport. Now obviously I can add an external switched power circuit for the heaters and fans like the aftermarket seat heaters have, but I notice that there are extra wires in the harness that connect to the existing seats. Can I just plug in the seats and the dash switches? It can't be that easy. On another forum I read that the computer would not recognize the heaters and fans unless it was reflashed, but supposedly that is something in the 'build' that the dealer cannot reprogram. Anyone have any more info on this? Also, anyone have any wiring diagrams they are willing to share? I believe these seats have memory also. It looks like the module may be in the drivers seat, so at least the memory for the seat itself may work.

The wiring is probably there. You would need the switches and relays I would think. Not 100% sure though.

Wrung out the wires against the service manual, looks like they are all there. Talk to a good tech at the dealer, he looked it up and there is no reprogramming option for the heated cooled seats. So I am out of luck as far as the 'factory' installation. Plan B is to run seperate aux power, switches, and thermostats for the seats to function. Not a real problem.

Although there was only one reply, I am assuming that at least a few people may also be interested in adding the heated/ventilated seats. After installing the lower bank switches today, the verdict is, they work. About 95%. The heaters and fans work great, however the leds do not light up to tell you whether they are on or on high or low. So, it appears to be plug and play. Almost. I'm going to try to talk to a dealer tech to see if something can be done to the cluster to drive the leds. I disconnected the battery, the service manual said after 5 minutes or so the cluster should reinitialize upon powerup, but still no leds. Overall, I am very happy.

one thing i would look into but probably would need the factory wiring is that when i remote start my truck and its cold out my seat heaters come on with the auto temp so the trucks and seats are nice and toasty. I dont believe the coolers come on in the summer.

I know the new trucks definitely start the drivers ventilated seats with remote too. Not sure on the older models.

Manual says mine should start the drivers ventilated seat when remote started and it is hot outside, and it does. It's only the leds that do not come on. Tech at the dealer said he may be able to do something with it when he hooks up to it. I think I'll take a chance.

I'm working on exactly this right now and no one will help! What year or seats were they? I'm looking at 13 seats into a 10 SLT. My understanding is as long as I have the heat module from a 10 and switches all should work even if the seats are from a different year.

Hoping to hear back from you,

thanks!
