mopar lithium grease for drive shaft
so in the engine bay a sticker says to lube the driveshaft after each oil change using mopar lithium grease, part number: 05083149AA. However I am unable to find this anywhere. I've searched the web, went to my local dealer only to have them look at me like I'm an idiot, and now I am doing more internet searching and not finding a thing. can anyone help? thanks

No, i find that quite extreme for 2 piece slip-spline driveshafts...
BUT at the least, if your u-joint`s happen to have grease fittings, by all meens grease those at every oil change.
Its easy, and grease is still relitively cheap.
As for the slip-spline style driveshafts...
If you tow with the vehicle, i`d say limit it to maybe every 30,000 miles.
If you dont tow, i`d run it up to 60,000 before pulling and greasing them.
I also find that wheel bearing grease lasts alot longer than lithium lube too.

If it has the 2 piece driveshaft, ther SHOULD BE a grease fitting somewhere around the middle part of the female part of the shaft so that the splines can be lubed. If you have to remove the driveshaft to lube, thats pretty dumb on dodge`s part to do that. I would install fittings.
Maybe dodge left the fittings off for a purpose... so you`d have to take it to the dealer... marketing strategy per say.
Ther also should be a grease fitting for the rear part of the front shaft too.
That grease fitting would be to lube the 2 u-joints facing the transfer case end of the driveshaft. (lubes the ball&socket between the 2 u-joints)
They`re very hard to locate, but they SHOULD be there. Maybe these trucks dont have those grease fittings anymore either...???
I believe this is only required on 2500 trucks, the 1500 is a different type system.
If its required to lube at every oil change, then you guys should probably get it done...
you dont need any excuse for them to cancel your warranty for not servicing it properly.

I myself, use the valvoline red synthetic grease tubes.
I`m not a big fan of lithium lube, its way to thin in my opinion.
Use whatever you feel works for you, but i would definately lube per service maint/manual if thats what they want you to do.
Its not that hard to install a grease fitting in the driveshaft, and if it were me, i would do it if i had a 2500 truck.
Its also not hard to install them into the u-joint caps either... drill it, thread in the grease fitting....done...!

Took about 10 seconds to find it, its basically just wheel bearing grease. Most driveshafts these days do not have zerks, all you do is rub some on the exposed splines - easier when the truck is on a frame lift.
