The 2500/3500s are always a year behind the 1500s. So if I remember right the 390s came out in 2009 for the 1500. So I would say that you have the first 375? Hemi...
It kinda sucks how they cant get those years lined up between the two models. There are many new technologies coming out in the 1500s I would like to see. BUT I guess I have to wait another year....

The 390 hp comes from the VVT (variable valve timing) feature in the newer hemi`s.
Also has a different intake manifold and throttle body as well.
Yours is likely:
5.7 Liter (345 cubic inch)
355 HP
395 TQ
ok, thats what I was thinking, does any kno if theres a way to convert it to the new hemi style? with replacing throttle body, intake, prob tuning etc, is there a diff computer for the vvt?
Hey bro I've gone heads up with the 3rd gen hemis, there pretty much toe to toe, I would focus on simple upgrades in this order, starting with tuner, cai catback exhaust, throttle body, and gears
Worrying about peak HP on a 3/4 ton is pretty silly - like worrying about torque numbers on a civic. Peak HP is at a high RPM and your truck has plenty of tourque which is what you need. For comparison, the newer Cummins has around 350HP, but 800ftlbs of torque.
well my main thing is when i was reading the higher hp and tq numbers with better gas mileage that got my attention, just trying to research to make it comparable to the new hemi, wasnt sure if i had the vvt or if i could convert it to it, tryin to weigh out every option before purchasing any parts

The better gas milage is due to the MDS system that 1500's have and 2500/3500 do not. Not really anything you could do to add that to yours.
Purchasing the Eagle VVT heads alone would out weigh the worth of completing the entire build. You would be better just doing an aftermarket Stage II cam and have CMR tune completed. You would likely end up with compatible numbers possibly better pending cam selection.
