Do they not have any electronic ears? After getting wax on my moldings, bed toppers, a light dusting of black spray paint fixed mine right up abut 6 months back.

Isnt it wonderful how all these dealerships are so Fl_lCKING worthless...!!!
Eventually (with YOUR time and YOUR money) they will finally find the problem,
by process of elimination... they`ll just keep bolting on new stuff till its fixed... on YOUR dime..!

When they DOOOOO get LUCKY, and finally find the problem, (and they`re compitent enough to really fix it right) talk to the owner of the stealership and demand YOUR money back that was needlessly spent previously. Do NOT except any free oil changes to try to make you feel better either...! If they wont return YOUR money for the UNNEEDED repairs, threaten them with small claims court, then watch how fast they move to return YOUR money. If they dont do anything to replace your empty wallet, tak`m to court.

Well I find your post worthless. The owner of the truck has explained that he and the tech have talked about the issue and it appears the tech is trying his darn-est to find the problem. You may think the DEALER is worthless and your really referring to the man that has been trying to find the issue but its the BEST and ONLY game in town. You think you know so much why don't you try pin pointing the issue he is having. Granted the tech and others need o say away from 'other' work or recommending other work until the issue the owner wants corrected is addressed.

Just a quick note, my 2012 5.7 ST has only 8k miles and I noticed a ticking during start up (mostly when engine is cold) for no more than 10 seconds then it disappears. I had them look at it when I brought it in for some warranty paint work and they said they all do it. Maybe because of the hydraulic lifters? After reading this thread i'll be checking my manifold bolts, hard to believe they would be bad after 8k though....my '03 hemi never had an issue.

Its not the oil. If its a lifter tick on cold start its the filter. I used WIX for a couple oil changes and had that issue. Contacted WIX. They wanted those filters. I never took the time to return them. Pure One filters, factory filters,Mobil one filters don't do it. In fact with where the filter sits in a Hemi you wouldn't think they'd have a bleed back issue. But I obviously they do.

I have the same ticking issue on my 4 gen '09 1500. Its an exhaust leak I'm 99 percent sure. I thought it was my magnaflow cat back system. I re-clamped it and the noise got better which brought me to this conclusion. Its still present though so I will be checking my exhaust manifolds as well. my engine light is also coming on with a bank 1 O2 sensor code. I can only believe that the exhaust leak is causing the O2 sensor problem as well. Just my 2 cents

Pretty sure it did this even before I had the oil changed but as of right now I have the mopar filter on it 089 or whatever the part# is and i used the factory recommended 5w20 but since winter is creeping up i used synthetic, it did the ticking even with regular 5w20 though. I DID hack out the factory muffler and put in a glasspack, i'm not certain if it ticked prior to that though. I'll be checking my manifold bolts today
