desperate- load levelers/lift bags
This is the exact reason why i joined the group , i'm thinking of purchasing a 2012
Ram 1500 to tow my 8.5x20 enclosed trailer and race car . I've always had Ram Diesel as tow rigs but can no longer justify the price difference vs mileage
My set up should be a little lighter , 3000lb car but not so much gear , etc.
Looks like either WD hitch or airbags should work . Does the engine/trans have any
problems pulling ?
Many thanks ......................... Doug

Can you adjust axles forward, my 6500 lb boat doesn't drop my rear like that, but my axles are adjustable forward as we'll haven't had to do this but is an idea, looking to do the tlc bags myself cause when I have loaded the bed with boat behind for trips to key west to trek to the dry Tortugas the back does sag.

We're going way bigger on the motor so we can go 5.20's/teens, so funding will be tight...I'm sure a WD hitch wont be a problem...kinda depends on the golfcart situation, if we go tandem, or put it on the tongue or maybe behind the car. Or if we just get a longer trailer.
Strange things happen with suspensions when vehicles are not on level ground - things that don't always seem to make sense. If your bumpstop issue only happens on the driveway and doesn't on level ground (i.e. the street) then don't worry about it. I see this on snowmobiles a lot. If you have them sitting in the garage with rollers under the skis and the rear on the floor the rear suspension sags WAY more than normal. Makes it look like there is a problem. But it's just an artifact of the way things are sitting.

we're going to put one of our intercomp corner scales under the tongue jack tomorrow in the street and see what our tongue weight is. The hitch says 600/6,000 for standard hitch and 1,000/10,000 for a WD hitch. We have the old WD hitch from our long race rig we sold years ago, probably set for the wrong ride height but it's worth throwing on there and seeing if it'll line up or be anywhere close.
Also, dad's ordering the total control system.

At the track right now.
Clicked these off when we got here. They're probably big, so just click the link.
On the ground, the deck is 90.5 degrees, it's 87.5 on the blocks (both figures with car loaded)

I'd definitely be curious about tounge weight - car looks way too far forward on the trailer - like maybe 80% of the weight is forward of the centerline between the 2 trailer axles.
That being said if the trailer is sitting at 90 degrees in that picture then you need a receiver that drops the ball a few more inches.

Something definitely looks wrong there. The truck is squatting way too much. As said above, it seems the tongue weight is too high. That can be very dangerous. I've had a trailer with a skid steer loader behind my truck that probably grossed out at 12K and it was not squatting like that. See more info about that and a picture here:
