No kidding - 1000lbs of gravel in the bed of my truck doesn't make it squat like that. Something very odd going on. The suspension is completely stock?

We bought it straight off the lot so I'd like to think so.

You really can't compare 1000 lbs. in the bed vs. 600 lbs. on the tongue. I had close to 2000 lbs. of river rock in the bed of my truck but the thing convinced me to weld a set of bags on was actually hauling my 700 lb ATV.

The 2000 lbs. was evenly distributed, but the ATV, due to my toolbox, sits with almost all of it's weight BEHIND my rear axle and pre-bags, the truck actually squatted worse...

True enough, but I don't get more than an inch or 2 of squat hauling a loaded car trailer either. Same effect with a 2up sled in the bed and tailgate.

I agree that 600 should not squat truck like that but i think that car is way to far forward. Try rolling it back 6-12 inches and put the bicycle up front.

Might be a goofy idea, but drag your car trailer to a local dealer and ask to hook it to one of their similar 1500s on the lot. If it is apparent your truck squats more then that one then ask the dealer to do an inspection on the suspension components on yours.

I'd call 4-500 pounds about right. The fuel alone is 150 pounds and I know the generator and toolbox are at least another 150, each of the 4 concretes is 25 pounds each. So maybe close to 450-500#
Wait... Do you also have all that in the back of the truck too? Hmmm... Perhaps 600# tongue weight plus another 500+ in the bed might be enough to squat it like that. What does the truck look like with just the trailer attached, nothing in the bed?

yea, we transport fully loaded.

Unloaded (almost never, between cargo swaps basically) there's 3-4" between the rear tire and fender.

During the week, it has dad's work stuff in it (about 300 pounds)

On race weekends, it has about 500 pounds of race equip + the trailer.

We've never had it with just trailer and empty bed. Old truck we picked the car up and went to car shows, but even then it still had dad's work stuff in it.

OK - that makes more sense if the bed is loaded up too. Set of bags would be a good idea then - WD hitch would be worth a shot too since you said you already have one.
