So far the ones that have posted using a program report decrease in fuel mpg. Evn onthe MPG settings. Your better off using that money for something more meaningful. Diesels benefit greatly and get get good gains from downloads.Gas engines do not.

Thanks hounddogg! I appreciate it. It's hard to figure out what works well and what doesn't. A lot if info in these forums. Mixed reviews. I just want to make my hemi the best it can be on a budget. Perhaps it's fine the way it is Performance wise. My magnaflow muffler cost just over $100 gave me the bark I wanted, yet it's still a quiet loud jusr enough without breaking out $700 for a cat back. And CAI. There's so many. Same thing mixed reviews again. But u figure I have only owned my truck less than a month. I got until next may when camping season starts to figure it all out

I have read on the Gen 2 forums that the MAP sensor is known to fail, resulting in poor mileage, but have not found anything on the Gen 4 forum pertaining to poor mileage.

Anyone have any suggestions?
i have a 2009 with a 5.7 i was getting a lean code on bank 1 (p0171) my scanner says possible map sensor is having problems so i ordered a new one on ebay and no more check engine light but now my mpgs are like 12 or 13 they used to be 15-17 with old map sensor anybody know whats up with this?? I just got the truck and do love it but driving easy around town with a small trailer 2000 pounds total im getting 11.5-12.5 and im a granny driver i feel like this isnt right my last truck (chevy 4.8) was wayyyy better with same load etc should this ram be that bad on fuel? You should check the dates on threads before posting in them. In case you haven't noticed, this thread dates back to 2012. I would like to think he got it fixed by now.........

If your gas mileage took a dump after changing the map sensor..... that's where I would be tempted to start. Not all aftermarket parts are created equal..... If you got the duralast, or something equally as 'low quality', wouldn't surprise me if that wasn't at least part of the problem. (that you have now.....) I would be more tempted to have a look at what the O2 sensors are doing...... They don't last forever.

thank you buddy good tips !! so heres the update on my 2009 ram 1500 5.7 hemi i noticed 2 exhaust manifold bolts where broke on each side so i took the manifolds off we welded a nut on the broke off ones they where broke off in the block total pain the butt job to do took many hours put all new bolts new manifold gaskets glad that part is fixed. before i did this job i put the old map sensor back in and my mileage got better again but even after this job im still throwing a p0171 lean bank 1 code so i put a new bosch o2 sensor in bank one and no check engine light for about 60 or 70 miles now its back on same code the shop did a quick check for vaccuum leaks i cleaned throttle body with no leaks in exhaust its running better than ever but i gotta deal with check engine light maybe ill try sticking that aftermarket map back in and see if my mileage is still good and no check engine light whats your guys thoughts? I think the one in the truck is aftermarket too not sure. I just matched up the part number of the current one and ordered on Ebay maybe i should try to buy a high quality map now? I dont know what else to try any help would be great thanks in advance.

Wow my 2001 Ram 2500 Gasser gets 16/18 on 40in tires. Almost makes me not want to swap a Hemi in it
