Default Things I find after a wash.

So I washed the dirt off my truck today. Found a few things...
The plastic stuff surrounding the door window frames (Black plastic coating) is starting flake and break off. The paint on my rear bumper is coming off in flakes as well, and my Dodge steps are once again starting to bubble, and the chrome is coming off. This being my second set in under 60,000 miles is pretty sad. I also noticed what appears to be a bubble under the paint on the left rear quarter panel. So I imagine within another ten thousand miles My truck will look like a giant piece of Swiss cheese. Rats! Pretty funny as I have a lifetime power train warranty on the truck. I can see myself driving in on just the frame and tires and getting my transmission worked on. Maybe I should take Ram up on their offer to buy it back from me for cash while it still looks fairly good..........I'll go think about it......

They offered me (Latest offer) $19,000.00. But I see used selling at around $20-$22,000.

Two days after I bought my used Ram, the right front fender started to bubble. It had about 4 to 5 big bubbles and about 20 small ones with only about 29,000 miles on it. Ram gave me no problems with fixing it. They replaced the whole fender and painted it. They also told me it wasn't rust but must have been something when they painted it.

I've been reading about paint problems on Tundra (worse), GM, less on Ford, but they have other issues. Seems some of this has to do with EPA making them change paint or something like that. At least someone said that, I don't know, but it is an issue.

Look at your warranty coverage. 09 trucks have a 5 yr rust warranty on cosmetic panels.

I have had the same experience with my 09. A couple weeks after I bought it used I noticed a small bubble in the same spot. That was a year and a half ago. Now there are major bubbles and the metal is wearing right through in a couple spots. Granted I have 155,000kms on mine, but it's the only spot on the truck that's rusting and it's pretty nasty. I didn't know about the 5 year rust warranty but I have a feeling that was only offered in the US.

The 5 year rust protection warranty also applies in Canada.

Interesting. So even though I bought the vehicle used I should be able to take it to a dealer and get the issue resolved?

I'm pretty sure the basic warranty including the rust warranty is transferable.
The lifetime powertrain warranty only applies to the original owner with conditions.
