Ticking sound when coasting?
So got the truck back from the dealer yesterday. They fixed it but dnot know which of the 2 things fixed it. They noticed I had a cheap filter and don't know what kind of oil I had in it. So they use wynns engine flush and then did a fresh oil change. Also theres a bulletin out for the mds system for a drone or vibration noise which mine did not really sound like. But going around 40 or 50 km/h I do not hear the noise on the buildings. I'll keep everyone posted after a while to see if it comes back.

Bests,
Dusty
They didn't replace anything. They were not sure out of the 2 things they did which was oil flush and then the mds bulletin which one actually cured it. I'm going with the sofare update for the mds system must have cured it.

2014 Ram Big Horn 1500 Quad Cab2WD, 5.7 Hemi, 8HP70, 3.92 LSD, factory dual exhaust, 20” wheels. Now at:042173 miles.
Just throwing it out there..but my 2010 had problems with cracked exhaust manifold bolts, which would cause an exhaust (ticking) noise. It wouldn't make the noise all the time just periodically. Hope this helps.....
Update. Since they did the mds bulletin and oil flush it was happening not as often. I was able to go to the dealer and repeat the noise for them on the hoist as I did at the Ford dealership I work for. So dodge is saying collaspable.lifters now. So in the next week they should have them replaced and hopefully the noise is gone. To me sounds like the cam phaser or timing chain rattling like the ford 5.4l do. Time will tell I'll keep updating when I know more.
Ive got a 2010 with 74K miles, mines doing it to. Here's an up close GoPro video placed on some refrigeration lines, sounds like a little jackhammer in there. I just purchased the truck used with a 30 day warranty, wondering what the little used car dealer shop mechanics will have to say about this. They already plan on reimbursing me for a pinion seal leak, but i feel like this might scare them
Update. Got my truck back from dodge and they replaced the mds lifters and noise is officially gone. They changed all 8 lifters. Lock pins in the lifters were turned inside of there selfs apparently. The job cost about 3500 but I had a aftermarket warranty which covered the repair for a dectucable of 150.
