With the tune you send them a log the replicates what is happening on their computer.... They see what the computer in the truck is doing.... Like I have said though I think there has not been enough work done on the 2011 ecu..... They say up to 2010 it is flawless.... We will see....... The jeep community seems to have great luck and I have not been able t find a ton of info Ram wise... Dyno will be my next step but I would like to get the check engine lights and errors off first...

Ok guys I may have a working truck... brian at diablo the dedicated ripp tuner spent his Sat morning working out the issues. . Finally rebuilt a tune from scratch and low and behold my truck runs smooth like oem and shifts smooth like oem with loads more power.... that was a 30 mile test so I will report in a week... but it really feels great!

Thanks guys for the feedback. Just curious, what kind of numbers is the tune pulling on the dyno? Or could either of you upload a dyno graph?

Default Ripp Supercharger update

Ok I said I would check back in a week. Truck still runs great but.... I still have rich errors. SO it looks like all 2011 Dodge programs have an issue with the injectors staying partially open upon decel. So this is why the rich codes take about 3 days to come up again.... Ripp said they are rebuilding the tune from the ground up... I don't know why this did not happen on their test vehicle On another note I did end up going with a commercial grade tranny cooler with a thermostat controlled fan because this thing does produce a lot of heat.... That combined with the ats controller it handles itself quite well with the power. Gas milage wise I am getting consistent 22 mpg running through the mountains which is a good improvement. I will update you once I get the revised program and hopefully the lights are gone..

Ok guys I think I am to point this baby is getting uninstalled..... It now turns off when I turn the air on and the transmission does not stay cool... I put a Flexilte with a 850cfm fan and it gets up to 220 with REGULAR driving.... More to come next week. Fyi never went over 3000 rpm...

Default Last Update So Long

So This was a horrible experience..... almost three months into it and a ton of money and its is hard to drive around town without the truck shutting off for no reason, trans heating up, turning the air on and the truck shutting off, transmission does not want to shift on hard pulls at upper rpms....... It was a nightmare..... So I have to work and have something that runs so it is traded in and I bought a diesel....... Which I will admit was the recommendation of some people here.... I guess I like learning the hard way...

How the heck did you manage to trade it in? I feel sorry for the next person who gets that truck even if you took all the crap back off of it. Probably took half the life out of the powertrain by running it all messed up like that.

They gave me 3000 less than I paid for it...... And a 2500 diesel long bed with extra large tank for 40000.... Hard to pass that up.... I just can't believe someone sells a kit that has this many issues... The shop said they have yet to see one jeep or ram that does not have extensive work to get it running right....anyways I am glad it is over...

Right there is one of MANY reasons i try not to buy a used vehicle anymore,
you never know what the previous owner didn`t, or worse, DID do to it.

Yep. I buy new, and keep it stock. They always seem to good by me that way. And when I trade them in they are clean and run great, so the next guy gets something good to drive.

I don't think I could have traded in a truck like that without ripping the system out first and getting it into a drivable condition. The next guy that buys it is gonna be really upset. Even if it is ripped out, who knows what damage has been done.

This thread is another great argument for keeping your truck bone stock.
