Default Resonator delete pros and cons

Hey guys, I was wanting to know if taking the resonators off will harm anything. Currently I have the stock setup but I took out the stock muffler and put a dual in single out Cherry Bomb Extreme on. I have a 5.7 Hemi. It is the factory dual exhaust.

So without the factory muffler are you having tons of drone from Mds? The resonators help absorb some noise from Mds but otherwise do very little, removing them won't cause any harm but you also will likely see very little difference in sound or performance.

There is like no drone at all.

Best thing I did on the Dakota. It had two resonators, removed them both and put a magnaflow muffler. Sounded awesome.

Yeah I love the way my truck sounds now with the Extreme. It has such a deep rumble but when you get into it, it gets up there in the decibels. Lol I don't know, I just thought I would try it to see what it would sound like. It's not like I can't just have them put right back on. Just wanting to know if there was gonna be any negative effects (engine).

Where do you live?
Here in Cali, after a car/truck is 6years old, we are required to do smog inspection. Removal of resonators will cause you to fail smog. And those babies are pricey, so at least dont throw them away!

A resonator has absolutely nothing to do with with emissions on any vehicle, (other than the fact that the exhaust passes through it). Removal of one or both resonators in our trucks will not have any impact whatsoever on emissions. All they do is alter the sound, nothing more.

Wrong. Resonators have nothing to do with emissions.

True. Sort of. It doesn't change pollution emissions, but as you said, it does change sound emission.

Regardless, I know I've heard that some states (probably CA!) don't allow their inspectors to use their noggin. They simply say that all exhaust components must be factory. If you're lucky, you'll get an inspector that doesn't know or care, but if you get a stickler I can almost guarantee that a resonator delete will get you a fail.
