Default Exhaust Questions

Hey all,

I'm about to trade in my 07 ram and get a 2015/2016 ram. Right now I have a dual exit flowmaster exhaust with super 44 muffler. I want to get something similar. The new rams have the dual exhaust tips already coming out the back. Has anyone just swapped out the stock muffler with something else? Do I need to replace the entire exhaust from the muffler back?

Anyone have the super 44 muffler or super 10 installed in their newer ram?

Would getting an axle back to swap out be a good answer too?

Any information would be great to know.

Thanks!

I just swapped mufflers, and moved it back to get it out from underneath the cab.

You do not have to swap with cat back system. Do whatever you want or your budget allows.

You may need to add some pipe depending on what decide to do.

i think I'm gonna go with the outlaw system from flow master with the super 10 muffler. It seems like it just bolts on and no extra piping is needed. It sounds very similar to my 07 I'm trading in tomorrow. its a sad day but i can't force myself to keep fixing rust every year when it decides to pop up in a new place. not worth the $$$

Here's a video. It can help in your decision.

Duke,

Did you use the factory tips and add them to the aftermarket exhaust or did you buy new aftermarket tips? The outlaw model comes with black tips. I like the look of the chrome tips coming out the back. I would most likely stick with the chrome so i would use the factory ones or buy aftermarket ones. I did the same on my old truck.

Im assuming the video is your truck that you posted?

Also, Ive heard a lot of people complaining about the drone on the aftermarket exhausts due to the MDS. Is this just something that if your gonna complain about the drone you should just keep your exhaust stock to begin with or is there a bigger issue then it seems?

So Im gonna get the flowmaster outlaw exhaust with the super 10 muffler. Its flowmasters loudest exhaust. I've been trying to find the DB level of it to make sure im not getting into hot water with the Pennsylvania laws. I had the super 44 on my old truck and cops did not care and it passed inspection every year. I'm assuming the super 10 will not give me any issues with sound levels or inspection. Anyone have this muffler or setup and have any input?

I ended up going with a Mufflex 14" (Magnaflow) system, sounds great and only took about an hour to install.
