Combustion chamber design. It used to be the 'hemi' cumbustion chamber was actually hemispherical. Its still close, but, not nearly so much as it was in previous iterations. (back in the 50's and 60's.)

 

Back during development, the media and "brand x" complained that DCx shouldn't call it a "hemi" because of those 2 bumps in the chambers meant it was not a true hemi head. The marketing guys decided they'd call it what they wanted to call it.

Yes, The hemi can come without badges, but its a selected option. (or just removed by owner aswell) Mine, one of the first night editions (one of the many pre-night edition ones) came with Badge Delete (Only has front and rear Ram heads) and Hemi Badge Delete as options, along with blacked Ram Emblems, Rims and such.

Hemi also can have normal side exhaust, my work 1500 is like that. Was probly the same price to get the cutout one, or it was used since a accident.
