You could see the rocker was not moving as far as the others.
Ended up having to pull the heads, it was a major disassemble to replace them. If your going to replace the heads,
get aftermarket exhaust stud/bolts and make sure your machine shop guy peens the edge of he valve seats to keep them
from working there way out.
Hello, I know that this is an old thread but I'm trying to figure out why you need to replace a bent valve? Curious on how the valve got bent.

I just bought an used 2016 ram 1500 5.7L, the lifters rattle way way to much for me. I think that its a lifter issue.

Usually valves don't get bent unless something hits them.... like, a piston... which is never a good scene. Of course, on the 5.7, it may just be a dropped valve seat. Pull the heads, see what ya got. (gotta pull 'em anyway to change the lifters.)

I wonder if the valve guide might have stuck a valve. Sure hope its not a failure of the variable valve timing mechanism.

I sure noticed that my 2016 hemi lifters sure rattle more in the newish truck than my 2001 ram 1500 5.2L with 300000 miles on the clock. Such a same. I hate vehicles that make funny engine noises.

Injectors were pulled and ultra sonically cleaned and tested. It seems to run ok until hard acceleration then it starts to miss and throws the p0305 code. With my scanner I can live stream the injector pulses. Everything looks ok until heavy acceleration then number 5 just goes dead. This seems to last for a minute or two then it will come back to life. The injectors have been swapped also. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Was you able to figure this out My 2012 Ram 5.7 is doing just that.

Did you ever get this figured out? Mine is doing just this. Swapped coils, plugs etc… Runs great unless I accelerate hard then light flashes and truck runs terrible for a minute.

Dood, I appreciate your input. I'll definitely try your solution first! But I could barely read or understand your post! I had to sit in my rocking chair, out on my front porch, and read it with a BIG southern accent, a large piece of straw hanging out of my mouth, and my eyes all blurry! lol 😆 No disrespect, just picking fun. Proud southern redneck here!
