Hi guys, so as promised, took truck into dealership yesterday. Their conclusion for the Battery Saver mode was “it only happens when its cold” and i should continue to monitor it. Which was absolutely no help whatsoever, and the front park sensor issue they THINK there may have been ice within the sensor or something! So basically nothing was done to remedy the problem. Drove truck home, sat for approximately 3-4 hours got in to run errand and low and behold “Battery Saver Mode” displays and i noticed the dealership had moved my light selector from AUTO to manual. I would assume this would be to reduce the initial start up draw. So in short i am no further ahead than i was prior to dealership visit. This Battery Saver mode continues to be a mystery, even to the dealership.

From what I am finding online, Battery Saver Mode implies there is an issue with the charging system, and the pcm will turn off various things to save battery. (to keep it running longer.) What does the volt gauge have to say when it comes on?

Voltage bounces from 14 to 11. They did say ther was a update for pcm, and they did update it but as i said later that evening when i started it the code displayed on screen briefly, and that was with the light control off! I’m wondering if i should bring it back and have them sit it outside for a couple hours if not overnight so they can see for them selves. They had told me that it never displayed while they had it, but the message was in fact stored in the message centre.

Have a chat with 'em. See if you can drop it right before they close, so they can park it in their secured parking (provided they actually have it....) and they can test after it sits outside overnight.
