Default 02 sensor code p113d keeps coming back

Gentlemen, I recently purchased a 2014 Ram 1500 crew cab 5.7 hemi and on the way home the service engine light came on. Checked it and P113D and PO133 bank 1 sensor 1 came up. First I changed the 02 sensor at bank 1 sensor 1 and the codes came back within a few miles. So after reading many posts on here I choose to go to set of Shorty headers and new manifold gaskets. Upon removing the old manifolds I noticed a number of things that would throw the codes, ( so I was feeling good ) the driver side had loose bolts in the manifold and the manifold exhaust flange. (Why isn't a gasket required at the manifold exhaust flange? ). On the passenger side there were 2 broken bolts close to the fire wall and a 3rd broke ( just popped!! )when I started loosing the others due to very bad warping of the manifold. So after removing the broken bolts and installing the new headers and gaskets insuring everything was tight I cleared the codes and you guessed it...the code P113D came back within a few miles. I researched a little more and seen that if you do any mods i.e. Headers you need to reset the ECM. I think I done that correctly, I removed the ECM fuse, got in the truck and fastened the seatbelt, turned the ignition switch to run ( not starting ), heard the 2 dings and turned the switch out, replaced the fuse, cleared the codes and you guessed it....the code P113D came back within a few miles. What's next??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What brand O2 sensor did you install? I think NTK or Denso is OEM, and the older trucks really don't get along well with the Bosch sensors.....

Do you have a scanner that can read live data? If so, have a look and see what that sensor is reporting. The code is for 'slow response'.... which sounds like a bosch sensor problem.... Might also be bad connection, or wiring.

Thanks for your reply, I had it installed at a shop so I don't really know the brand. It was not the cheapest nor the most expensive, middle of the road priced. Tomorrow I plan to switch that sensor to the other side and see if the code follows. If not I'll start following wires.

That sounds like a solid plan. Let us know what happens.

A quick update, switched the 02 sensors and the same code P113D came back, checked wiring and all seemed good. Researched more on the code P113D and came across the IAT ( Intake air temperature sensor ) as a possible cause. Removed it, at the tip 1 side was a very bright blue and the other was Jet Black! Cleaned it with mass air flow sensor cleaner and Shazam...bright blue again! replaced it and cleared the code, I don't want to Jinx myself but so far so good.

Do you have a reusable air filter that uses oil? The only time I've seen an IAT or MAF sensor element get visibly dirty was when a reusable air filter had been over-oiled. In the case where this happened on my car, my fuel economy had dropped noticeably and I went looking for the cause. Cleaning the MAF in that case brought the fuel economy back up. I was the guilty party for over-oiling the filter that time.

I didn't think it's an oil use reusable air filter, it looks brand new and just the standard replacement air filter used in any oil change place. But who knows what type the previous owner used before.

Yeah, I'm sure the oil change place didn't install a reusable filter. Well, there's a good chance you'll never need to clean the IAT again, but at least you'll know to keep an eye on it. Thank you for posting back what you found to be the issue!

Ok, Back to square 1.....10 miles into a 40 mile trip the engine light came back on. After returning home I checked the codes and we have P113D bank 1 sensor 1, PO133 and a new one PO128 ( Coolant Thermostat ) I'm a little lost now... Something else strange happened, while driving the dash lit up saying the front parking sensors were unavailable then went out, but when I parked the sensors worked fine?? I haven't driven the truck enough to really get a feel for it but it seems to have a slight hesitation when shifting between 2nd and 3rd and 3rd to 4th. In a hesitation I mean sluggish, maybe it's just me.
