Question 4wd problem

anyone know or have issues like i'm having? got a 2011 Ram 1500 5.7 and the 4wd auto comes on then 4wd light comes on then same time 4wd low flashes. I changed the front diff. 4wd. actuator but that has done nothing. after doing that 4wd light stays on steady with 4wd low coming on also blinking but selector switch is in 2wd. anyone can tell me what could possibly be? thanks for any info!

I'm not fully understanding what's happening, the light is cycling through the 4wd modes at random, or they're all on at the same time? By 4wd actuator, you mean the motor on the side of the transfer case?

yes while driving truck in 2wd the 4wd auto light comes on then it will change to 4x4 light with 4x4 low light flashing. i never even touch the selector switch. i changed the front diff actuator but that didn't do a thing.

Bad switch, or bad transfer case control module would be my guess.

The actuator on the transfer case would be my suspect. I've not fully invested time on how the auto function works, but could have an issue with the encoder circuit on the transfer case actuator not detecting shaft position correctly

One of the reasons I like having that stick on the floor to tug on when I need 4x4.
