Anyone Looking For A Possible Show Truck/Winter Project
This truck has 15,336 miles title and carfax can confirm! I am wanting to sell my truck. Ive had it for over a year, and don't have the time or money to invest in it anymore. This truck has a lot of potential and now im just looking to sell it for something more economical to drive. The truck is a 2001 2500 4wd std cab. I have replaced/changed almost everything on this truck with either new parts, or close to new. The truck was white to begin with, now its in all primer. Here is a list of everything ive done so far:
new dist cab/rotor
spark plugs
waterpump
torque converter
leafsprings with overloads
plastic mirrors instead of the metal ones
battery
tranny pan and inspection cover (new from dodge)
new tires never been mounted (was waiting for truck to be finished) 33in thornbirds
all fluids flushed and changed
some new lines (brake, powersteering, tranny cooler)
started some rust repair
have a pair of rocker panels/cab corners that were cut about 3 ft up and 3ft in. with no rust
replaced the tail gate
I have a bunch of parts in boxes that ive gotten for it (mainly interior pieces). The main problem with the truck is the rust on it. It also needs the front seal replaced in the tranny. This truck has a lot of potential. I was planning on making it a show truck, but gas prices have forced me to get rid of one of my projects. The truck books for around 10k as it sits. The interior is really nice, bench seat with the vinyl floor mat. This truck does have rust, and needs repair, but only has 15336 miles on it.
To break it down, if someone wanted to turn this thing into a nice show truck they would need to :
1. fix the cab and bed rust (about 800 to replace everything, or cut it out and replace with sheet metal about a couple hundred).
2. Undercoat the truck and rhyno the bed
3. give it a decent paint job
4. slap the tires i bought for it on it.
5. And clean it up real nice

WTF
15,000 miles and its rusting out? You sure thats the original miles? My dad has a work truck (2001 chevy duramax diesel with over 250,000 miles on it and it has no rust and runs like new). I guess its just how people take care of their rides or well in your case how they dont.

I got it the way it sits. The title is correct and its been carfaxed and it seems like a totally different truck, but its not. I couldnt believe it either, a 15k truck with rust, but its not all that bad. Out with the old and in with the new hehe. I know some junk yard friends so itll be a nice truck in a couple of weeks.

Well depending on where the trucks at if your in the salt belt states Ex. IA, MN, WI that uses alot of salt if the person drove it in the winters and the let it sit alot and just drove during snow storms ect. i've seen it before low milage vechiles rusted out because people let salt sit on them and rust them out, didn't wash off the underside. stuff happens....
