Default What kind of an amp should I get?

What kind of an amp should I get? This is my first system and I don't know crap about amps. I have two 10" Rockford Fosgate P2's. I think that I need a 1000W amp.

How much are you willing to spend? That will determine a lot.

Just remember one thing. You really cant have too much power.Youre better off turning down the gain on the amp instead of starving the subs of power.Generally too litlle power will blow a speaker before too much power will.

Pretty much..

Not having enough power won't blow the subs, its actually quite easy on them.. but cranking the gain and boost to try and get "more power" out of the amp is what kills them.

The subs are dual 4 ohm. I don't really feel like spending over $300, but if it's necessary I will. Just as soon as I get the funds. I don't mind spending money as long as what I buy is high quality.

I'd just like to know which brands are good and which ones I should stay away from.
