HELP! No Sound - new stereo install
I dont know what the problem is - im sure it has to do with my factory amp - i have the premium infiniti sound system in my dodge 2005 quad cab -
I just bought a new head unit and am trying to hook it up - the guy at the stereo shop said i could just connect it to the harness -
So i got my head unit harness connected to this other harness (sold seperate) which connects to my factory harness -
The unit powers up fine, but i got no freaken sound??? - what am i missing - do i have to do something to that factory amp -
help
TIA,
Boyd
BTW i also need to install 2 new front door speakers, but am having trouble getting the door panels off - any suggestion

ok the no sound could be that you didnt hook up the remote corectly, the harness you got might not support it. you could also try and follow the speaker wires off the harness to the amp and see if it is powering up when you turn the steroe on. only other thing i could suggest is to rewire the speakers, then you know there will be no problems.
The door panel should be screwed in with like 2-4 screws then it should pop off, it most likely has the snap clips. I havent taken mine off yet but need to aswell to install my kicker speakers. ill elt you know how to get it off the right way once i get mine off, rather break mine then have you break yours.

just got mine in an hour ago. i had the same problem. i put in a JVC HU with my factory Infinity setup. i used a wire connector for my make/model....no cutting into factory wiring.
**SOLUTION***
make sure you connect the blue w/ white stripe (remote power on) to your blue wireharness. your factory amp needs this power to send audio. i hooked up mine and VIOLA! sound!

i just taped off the extra yellow wires. didnt use them.
my particular wire harness adapter (scosche) had 2 blue wires, one with a stripe, one without. i hooked the one WITH the stripe to the blue remote on my HU. it powered up the amp and i got sound. just tape off the extra blue wire.

had a good feeling it was the remote power up. glad it was simple to fix.

havent fixed it yet - cross your fingers, -
the harness from the truck only has one blue/white wire
the harness from the new head unit has two, one says power on (which the one i used and think this is correct- its to power the amp)
the other one says power antenna - both have blue and white stripe
I dont think this issue is caused by the blue and white stripe wire - although i am going to double check all of my connections tommorrow -
Any other thougths
heres the unit i bought

? - it has to be the amp though - why else wouldnt any of the speakers work
the harness from the truck has two grounds, i connect one to the unit and the other one i connected to the parking break wire - i assume this is ok/

taking off the door, do i have to take off the handle screw - and how do i pull it off with door lock and window controls - will it just pop off over the top of them
