Awe man, if Dodge made a Hemi V-10, that would be awesome. I bet if Dodge did make the Hemi V-10, Dodge would have an answer for the Vette.

 

yeah your right. i know there is a ton more potential in that viper V10. that's why i'm wondering why with the new viper coupe they didn't up the horse power a little or put that rumored hemi in there.i really hope they put that 7.7 L hemi in it...that would just be awesome!

 

Here's an update on the cost of the Z06. I finally got around to reading the article in Motor Trend. They estimate cost of a Z06 to be between $75K and $85K. Looks like it should be quite a car, though. The competition will be good for us consumers. Dodge has until the fall to answer the challenge. There is too much invested for them not to. This should be interesting!

 

That's ridiculously high. I don't think Chevy would boost it 30 grand in one year.

dodge would be doing the dumbest thing in the world if they didnt up the horsepower. like someone already said there is a ton of power left in the v10, it would be cheap AND easy to up the horsepower. and chrysler has said that their SRT cars will always be the best in its class, so if they dont up the power they would basically be alowwing it to happen, like they dont care??!! WTF.

 

i really don't think that the new vette will be between 75 and 85. what i heard was like 55-65. i just can't see them making it cost 25 grand more....even thought they did some awesome work to it. and dodge really needs to get going and put that V10 Hemi in the viper!!that way they can get read of some of that 3410 pounds and give it more power.

 

The base convertable is $55K and with reasonable options it is well over $65K (Go to the Chevy website and try building one to order). To estimate $75K and up for the Z06 is not unreasonable. Just the aluminum frame and the engine upgrade is worth more than $10K.

I believe it's unique to the Z06. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
