Since when is improving an engine using inhouse technology dumb? I always thought that was smart! Hemi technology is an asset that DC has every right to use. It's not cheating. Hemi or not, there is a lot more in the V-10 that hasn't been tapped yet.

BTW, the Z06 runs similar numbers to the Viper. Who's to say it's faster until we have some heads up tests. Magazine tests give us an idea of performance but their results vary quite a bit because of differences in the weather, the track, the driver, etc. Take the tests on my truck for example. The magazine 0 to 60 tests range from 4.8 to 5.5 seconds. 1/4 mile times range from 13.2 to 13.8.

Most tests I've seen for the Viper say 0 to 60 times are around 3.9. Car and Driver quotes the Z06 manufacturer's claim of 0 to 60 in 3.8 - close enough where the driver makes all the difference. 1/4 mile times for both cars are 11.7.

I'm not just cheerleading for the Viper. I'm after the facts. If the Z06 is legitamately faster, give 'em credit where credit is due. But for now, the jury is still out. Also keep in mind that Dodge has until the fall to answer the challenge. That's when Z06s will hit the showrooms. After all that has been invested in the Viper program, I can't see them conceding the throne that easily.

btw...do you own a ram srt-10?? i'm assuming that the "your truck" you were talking about cuz if you do that's awesome man!! what's it like to drive it????

Yeah, I have a Ram SRT-10. What's it like to drive? It's brutal, it's excessive, it's impractical, it's outrageous, it's over-the-top, it's politically incorrect and I haven't quit smiling since I got it! I grew up around performance cars and this truck has exceeded everything I expected it to be. I've had faster vehicles, including my current Belvedere. However, I don't think I've ever had as much fun driving anything else.

 

The Viper is so much cooler than the Vette. But I can admit that after seeing this Vette up close it is pretty nice. But Not as Nice as the Viper.

yeah the viper is a cooler than the vette but the vette is still really cool....but looking at those pictures...the vette sure is copying a lot of the style from the viper. that's why is cool looking.

I bought my first car when I was your age for $100. It was a '65 Barracuda with a 273 V-8, a 4spd and a broken rear end (Someone put traction bars on an old 7 1/4"). I fixed it, sold it for $400 and started working my way up from there. Buy, fix, sell, buy, fix, sell...

 

that's aweosme!ever since i was young i wanted a dodge ram but i got a real good deal on a 90 silverado so i bought it instead. i'm saving for a 4x4 ram though.i did have a 88 dodge caravan that i fixed and sold.so maybe some day i'll own a srt-10 ram!! haha.but yeah...that is one awesome truck..anyways...back to the viper and corvette.....

 

he Vette is 10 times better than the Viper. The Z06 puts out the same power as the Vipe rbut its out of V8 which makes a hell of alot more sense, plus the bette look 100 times better and is cheaper, the Vette just , makes more sense all around.

 

the viper is more rare though so that makes it cooler.give chyrsler a few more months....then the viper will perform a little better....but you are right...as of now it is faster and cheaper(not by too much anymore though)....so we will just have to wait till fall.
