Default Will Chrysler Honor our Lifetime Warranties when they go Bankrupt?

Just wondering. I paid cash for my warranty a few months after buying the truck. According to inside sources, Chrysler's lack of new product portfolio is an indication they are probably going to dismantle and sell off divisions.

The only new product on the horizon is the 09 RAM. In 2010 they are contracting to build the new nissan full size based off the Ram. Wonder if they plan to sell off RAM production to Nissan?

A reverse deal has been struck where nissan builds compacts for Chrysler. The caliber will probably be replaced. Chrysler doesnt have any other new designs planned.

Dude, you'll be fine. I doubt dodge is going under, why would they put so much into the upcoming challenger if they were going bankrupt. The deal between dodge and nissan was in both party's favor. The Titan does not sell nearly as well as toyota, dodge, ford or GM, so it was costing nissan too much money to produce, so the new ones will be made based on the ram. I think the power train may be different though. On the other hand, dodge doesnt really have any really good mpg smaller vehicles that can compete with imports, so nissan will supply dodge with those. More of a partnership if anything. If you think about it, there probably isnt any new vehicles upcoming because it isnt time yet. The new ram in 09 is only new because of how long the current model has been in production.

I would be more worried if the Ram was to be based off the Titan, but since it's the other way around, I think it sounds like Nissan realized that the Ram is a great truck and they want theirs to be like the Ram, in much the same way that Mazda pickups are/were (do they still have them?) basically a rebadged Ford Ranger.

As for the compacts, that is similar to the way that Chevy rebranded Toyota Corollas as the Nova for a period of time. Many of the Japanese companies make great fuel efficient compact vehicles, which is something Chrysler is really lacking.

Chrysler may SAY they have no other designs planned, but that's typical of any big company... They don't want to tell their competitors what they might have up their sleeves. Chrysler has recently redesigned a LOT of their vehicles... The Ram, Dakota, and Durango have all gotten recent redesigns (or upcoming). They have also released a lot of new vehicles, such as the Nitro, the Caliber, the Charger, etc. It's unlikely that they will have redesigns in only a few years.

As far as I know, the ram-based Titans will have hemis. As I understand it, the new Titans will be a Ram chassis, suspension, drivetrain, and engine options with a Titan body on it. Nissan knows the 317hp 5.6L Endurance engine can't compete with it's contemporaries, and that redesigning/overhauling it would be too costly. Therefore, they are sourcing Chrysler engines for the Titan. The only question I have is that will the Titans also inherit the Ram's transmission or will Nissan install something else?

09 V6 Challenger
09 Challenger R/T
09 Challenger SRT with 6 speed manual + new electronics, "Keyless starting"
09 Journey
09 Durango Hybrid
09 Aspen Hybrid

Coming soon, Ram 1500 Diesel, Ram Hybrid

I live close to the Nissan plant that builds the Titan and it is still up and running strong. Where did you get this info? Any links? Why would Nissan that is one of the top sold in the US go to Chrysler to build a truck. Chrysler is the ones that goes to the foreign market for auto's. How many cars and trucks did Mitsubishi build for Chrysler?

ok, so i know this is a dodge forum, and i drive a tundra, but in imho, the titans can more than hold their own with the rest of the full size market. This was never the issue, sales is the issue.

Chrysler is not going to go bankrupt, The Ram has improved, Ford owners are buying them, ( ex ford owner ) RWD is back with the charger, 300, mangum ( last year ) 2 extra doors and performance on par with a Mustang GT. if you don't need the hemi, the 3.5 V/6 is sorta peppy.

SRT 4 version of the Caliber is hot, but the aspen and durango are uguly and compete directly with the grand cherokee, thiers too many 4wd models in the chrysler line up.

Go fast SRT 8 models atract attention, not every one is going to buy one, but it gets people into the dealers.

One area chrysler has to improve is the **** poor quality of some of the dealer garages, but booth Gm and Ford are lacking in true customer attention, forms and surveys is all but a paper chase game.

And, dodge has to improve thier painting of thier trucks, mime is not so great, but all in all Chrysler is in good shape.

yea, titans are badass trucks. it sucks they can't sell them...cause those trucks definitely cost a crapload. chrysler oughtta get rid of this hemi...or atleast not call it a hemi. everyone thinks they have a true hemi. it's a modern-day engine simply dubbed a hemi.
