First Photo Of Detroit's New Muscle Car Threesome!
I really hate that, I know it's necessary for sales but I feel these cars should be high-po cars and anyone who doesn't like that can buy something else. The biggest thing that's lost respect for the mustang in my eye is how many V6's are out there compared to something that actually ought to have the stang name. To me the V6 Mustangs are just a big joke.
The V-6 models of these pony cars are the white-trash muscle cars. What I mean is; these will be rental fleet cars that will go straight to the used car lots like JD BYRIDER, and lower to lower mid class people will grab them up and think they are hot schit by trying to make people think they are the real thing.

I'm glad we got that straightened out for all the mullet wearing individuals here...
300hp is going to be tortuise power in those cars due to the weight; because I doubt the v-6's are any lighter weight than the v-8. It still isn't going to be anything compared to the real thing. Try and race one of the v-6's and they'll get spanked.
I believe the newer 'Stangs with a V6 and 5-spd run about a 15.0 qtr-mile if I am not mistaken... I'm not arguing it against any of the V8's mentioned at all, but I'm just saying it's not exactly a grocery-getter either.
There a lot of V6 pretenders that had way less horse power. For just one example. I beat a V6 Mustang and a V6 Firebird in my 4 door 2.7 liter Intrepid. Most of the V6 pretenders are an embarrassment to the faster version.
Im of the opinion that sedans arent really cars at all, but transportation devices. Ill allow the 300 and Charger do offer a LITTLE more style and performance for someone who cares something about what they drive, but its still a huge compromise. To a hardcore enthusiast, 4 doors are a no-no for the most part.
I get the idea, but I think Chase's point was that driving a 2-door "sports car," like a V6 Mustang or Firebird, Camaro, etc... and getting you butt kicked by a 2.7-liter V6 4-door family sedan is just plain ridiculous.
IMO, the cars weigh too much for the wimpy V6 powerplants that were/are offered in them. It takes a lot of the sport out of the idea of the V8 powerhouses that used to flaunt these cars on a regular basis back in the old days.

Currently, the only V6 options for GM as a coupe are the G6, Camaro (next year) and the Monte Carlo which is being discontinued after the 09 model per GM. Doesnt leave anything desirable there.....
Chrysler has only 1 coupe with a V6 and that is the Sebring convertible...
Ford has the Mustang....
And that's about it....for V6 coupes....
GM has a couple of coupes that are 4 cylinders and turbo'd, Chrysler has none, and Ford has none as well....
I wont count Mazda because its not Ford...
