Its all over. I think its quite something for the president of the USA to announce the bankruptcy of a 2 bit car company.
=( that sucks

It may not be that bad. American Airlines and United went into chapter 11 after 911, and they are still around flying airplanes... This could beneficial for Chrysler, allowing them to completely renegotiate with the UAW and others.
I thought the worker and retiree pay was a big issue, but perhaps not so much: http://seekingalpha.com/article/1101...oit-s-problems . That said, I never made $45/hr (or $55/hr) with benefits while working as an FAA mechanic on aircraft.

Chrysler is definitely filing Chapter 11.

If this doesn't tarnish their reputation too much, it can definitely help them emerge stronger. We will just have to wait and see.

The current reports have them filing 11, the government backing it, and Fiat signing at that point.

I really think the bankrupsy is going to end up with the same offer that Chrysler gave its creditors in the past couple days, just drags it out longer and costs us more money.
