Default NASCAR and the new Charger?

It is hard to understand why Dodge would change the looks of the Intrepid Cup car by removing the decals and putting completely different looking headlight decals which do sort of look like Stratus Coupe ones, but there are differently. But if you look at the new NASCAR Intrepid front, and the look at Dodge Charger R/T Concept front, they kinda give a similar look. Is this the direction Dodge is taking the next Charger? Have to look for it at the New York Auto Show in March!

That's awesome. I have been out of touch with NASCAR, is the HEMI still banned?

Besides NASCAR would never yet a manufacturer run a certain extreme head design. They have to run a 5.7L displacement V-8, however no HEMI, VORTEC, or TRITON heads can be used. The motors have to be built w/ the same parts that you can buy from a local auto parts shop!

I knew that, I just wasn't thinking. I heard the only part of the car that's made by the car company is the hood.

I am extremely dissapointed in NASCAR, they haven't been stock car racing in decades yet they still call it as such. They use to have to use stock sheet metal and an engine type and size that was available for that car from the factory. Chrysler played by the rules and were penalized for it and that is why they left NASCAR decades ago. They designed 2 perfect cars for NASCAR and made the necessary number available for the public for them to be used in NASCAR. And of course it had the 426 Hemi as an option. They completely dominated NASCAR, breaking all records along the way, causing GM and Ford to cry baby about it and NASCAR changed the rules, but they only changed the rules for Chrysler to stop their domination. They said they can keep the 426 Hemi and lose the body design or keep the body design and use a 305 cubic inch or less engine. It use to be up to more than just the driver to win races, the engine builders knowledge and abilitys as well as the car companys body designs. That is what made the sport great, but now it's just a bunch of clone cars with slightly different headlight, tail light and grill decals to tell them apart. This is just a few of the reasons that I hate NASCAR.[sm=smiley7.gif]

I would love to see them have to use the stock sheet metal and available engines with their stock drivetrain layout. It would be a bunch of FWD V-6 racing.[sm=smiley36.gif]
