Florida high school using Ram Trucks logo
Lake Mary High School in Lake Mary, Florida is infringing on (Dodge) Ram’s logo. The trademarked badge Chrysler currently adds to all its trucks is the exact same goat as the Lake Mary Rams use for items such as uniforms, stationary, and courtyard benches. So the issue here is not who owns the rights, but instead how the rights are being handled...Chrysler was not happy and instructed Lake Mary High to change its insignia...Between now and June 15th, the school needs to change everything from its letterhead to its gymnasium floor.
It's kind of an unfortunate story. Chrysler can't have people using one of its logos without rights, but it's also bad to get a school deeply involved.

I think it's fargin' ridiculous (and that's diculous twice)!
Most companies make all kinds of giveaway chit with their logo on it to get the name recognition. I can understand issues where someone is selling a product with the logo on it, but hell, if it's a damn school emblem, what the hell?
I think given the state that Chrysler has been in ever since old Lee Iaccoca retired, they have more important things to worry about...

They just screwed themselves out of countless dollars worth of free advertising. I mean, hell, anyone with half a brain knew Chrysler wasn't giving them money or anything else that would make the school want to do that, so mess with it?
I know if someone wanted to take my Honey Bee logo and slap it on a few hundred kids' backs, more power to them. It didn't cost me a dime and I'm getting my logo out there.
