Motor Trend Poll: Charger Vs Mustang
I've owned , hot rodded and raced both a '65 and a '69 Stang. Always thought the '67's were the best of the bunch with the 390. The new 'Stang takes many of it's stying cues from the '67. Power to weight, the 'Stang wins, handling... the 'Stang wins... looks... again the 'Stang. D-C has announced it will make no more 2 door cars. Well... put a taxicab sign on 'em 'cause 4 door street machines don't cut it. A friend of mine now has my old '69 which is gettin' the full treatment... 'n I expect the .030 bored 351W to put out at least 485 horses when it's installed. It's got ALL the goodies!
If these two vehicles were to be classified in NHRA Stock Eliminator... they would not be in the same class.

Maybe they should drive a 5.7 hemi in a stratus coupe and then compare it to the Mustang? Would that be nice! Then stratus would win on Power to weight ratio and be in the same class range??
Well I"ve been a dodge man most of my adult life and I really don't have a bad thing to say about them. I however just recently purchased a '08 Mustang GT Convertible California Special. I've never been a Ford man but this car is the most awesome piece of machine I've ever owned. That 300 hp is a fast sob! It's now in the shop having a power pack added so therewill be a little more horsepower. Anyways the automatic is quick & impressive. Somehow the charger isn't the real charger because if it's for the nostagia Dodge missed it by a long ways. The real charger's are long gone when the dayof the muscle car was exactly that. A muscle car!!
He's a Ford lover in love with his new toy and now bashing Dodge to justify his lack of self confidence in his new ride that he is payingdearly for..............

odge's hotrod sedan vs Ford's hotrod sedan. (I bet the Charger would win that one
)
Seems to me the Charger and Stang aren't in the same class. Where I live, the Charger is ultra popular, but as a kind of regular sedan (with a bit of extra styling zing). The Mustang commits you to a 'sport' back seat and no rear doors. Even the V6 has ungodly insurance rates too.
