I could see them doing a very limited production run....say no more then 5000 models.....

There is a slight demand for them, despite what you think... I mean, most men wouldnt be caught dead in a minvan.....but give them the option to outrun a stock mustang in a minivan and I think many of us would take one if we had to....

That said, there's a 95% chance they wont do it....but hey...they did an SRT-8 model wagon.....so a minivan isnt that MUCH of a stretch....not to mention an SRT-4 motored PT Cruiser....
Key words there are "if we HAD to". Which is another reason why I think this rumor is false.

HEMI powered wagon = awesome. SRT-4 powered PT = awesome.

SRT-6 minivan = stupid.

Big difference there...
We don't know for sure what the next generation Caravan will look like for sure. You never know, it might look cool. Think about it. Not that long ago station wagons were considered to be the most "girly-mobile" by wagons like the Taurus wagon instead of minivans. If Ford some how was able to fit the same exact powertrain that is under the Magnum into the Taurus, it would still be a disgusting vehicle. The thing is station wagons have evolved into cool wagons like the Magnum, and the same company (DC) could do it again with minivans.

Again, it might seem redicilous now but it might be an augmented product. Chrysler might be able to take back the lead in innovation for preformance minivans, like they did with the turbo Caravans.

Back about 1990 or so, they had a turbo version of the Caravan. I knew someone who owned one, but it was just a family van. They had no idea what was under the hood. I know they didn't make very many of them, and it wasn't, despite the "turbo" badge on the front fender, at all fast. The V6 was a better deal, about the same horsepower but a lot more bottom end torque.

But...I'm trying to remember the year...I was out at Chryslers Tech Center in Auburn Hills when it was brand new. We were being ferried about by Bob Lutz hisownself in his personal ride, custom-made of course. It was a Dodge Caravan with the 2.5 four with all the goodies. I'm guessing now that it made about 225 hp or maybe more. Remember, Lutz was the boss, and what the boss wants, the skunkworx boys are happy to gin up. The suspension was fully tweaked as well.

Since he was the boss and a certified jet and helicopter pilot and they were his roads, he flogged that puppy with about five aboard and everyone said, Wow. You gotta build it. But Lutz knew that there was no real market for it. Really, none of us would have bought one, but it would have been fun to play with. No doubt that beastie has long gone to the shredder, but it would have been a lot of fun to drive.

In the near future, you are going to be very surprised what you see the SRT badge on. Just take the Grand Cherokee SRT8 for instance. How much sense does a 425 HP Grand Cherokee make? None at all, but it's bad ***, and that's why Chrysler built it.

The Cherokee SRT-8 makes A LOT of sense....
An offroad vehicle that's lowered, has nice interior, nice rims, a good looking body kit, and no tow hitch. (emphasize offroad vehicle). I get your point though and agree, it makes a lot of sense, but it's how you look at things.
