Special Edition Charger Daytona for 2006!

RE: Special Edition Charger Daytona for 2006!
I was reading the RTS pullout from the October '69 Hot Rod and noticed that Plymouth claims that the RTS 'system' was supposed to be restricted to cars that did 14 second quarter miles, but the only test (I know of) of the 6bbl Fury GT from '70 is in Car Life, and they only show it running in the 16s. This could be a fluke however. I read a test of a '69 Fury with 4bbl 383 from Motor Trend (comparing the all new Ford and Plymouth with the heavily revised '69 Chevy - it too is from the great "Fuselage" web site) and they have it running a 15.7e.t. - about the same as an Impala SS427 with the 4 speed.
Also, I have a test from August '69 "Hi Performance Cars" where they test a 440 Polara for the California Highway Patrol. Although the CHP insisted on Air conditioning, the car went without Mopars famously feel-free power steering (can you imagine steering that thing?) the magazine was more drag race oriented than Car Life or Motor Trend, and they took it to an actual bracket track and raced other real cars, and managed to squeeze a consistent 15.1 e.t. with the stock Polara. I think it was the TNT/magnum edition of 375hp, although they did make a 360hp version that used dual pipes of the TNT, but without the dual snorkel air cleaner and hotter cam profile.
I suppose this belongs on another thread... oh well.
I guess now that we have the C&D concept shots, this "Daytona" model is easy to picture - the black hood thing is totally retro - yet then again, the 'ricers' do it.
One more plea to DCX: Please give us an affordable ($25,000 - about the cost of the Mustang GT) V8 Charger - maybe a "500" or "SE" or even "superbee." You could put the 4.7 engine in, or even offer the 345cid Hemi but with an economy rear axle (2.19 rather than current 2.82) if they want to make sure it doesn't outgun the RT version. It would get better gas mileage and be a sensible 'middle way' between the milquetoast SXT and the hairy RT.

Guys and gals, that questions is, will the SRT-8 be the coupe we're all waiting for??? All the other SRT's are bigger engines w/ upgraded body parts. Since thier putting the fancy body on the daytona what are they gonna do for the SRT-8? Will it be the same sedan body w/ out the special paint job or will it be a coupe?
