Ok, that is awesome. I'm breathless.

I absolutely can't stand all this new Tundra hype, and I've dipped my nose into the Tundra forums, and those import-lovers are dilusional and obviously have no idea which end is up. They seem to think that this new run at the market from Toyota is going to somehow over-take our industry.

I just laugh at the possibilities the big three now have as a result of them taking a poke at our truck market.

Let's keep prying for information guys, I wanna see how reliable this "6.4L" Hemi is. I know they've made it, and I know it exists as a result of SEMA showing it off. But WILL they put that sucka in the new Rams????

Lets keep this updated.

He was also saying it would possibly replace the viper engine, getting rid of the V10 and going strictly to V8. I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen, with the way gas prices are going up, switching the Viper to a V8 might be better for sales.
I'm almost positive that if you own a brand new Viper, your not concerned with the gas prices at any given time...plus, I think its been confirmed that the next gen Viper is getting a 8.4 V10 (I heard it was also desiged by Mclaren?).

I was talking with a rep from dodge (i'm close to the guys at my dodge dealer) and he was talking about a 6.4l HEMI that they were going to come out with in the 2009-2011 area. He was also saying it would possibly replace the viper engine, getting rid of the V10 and going strictly to V8. I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen, with the way gas prices are going up, switching the Viper to a V8 might be better for sales.
Not to get off topic, but they will discontinue the Viper before putting a V8 in it. Viper is V10, without the V10 it is not a Viper. The "affordable" V8 for better salesis called Challenger and I would not be surprised to see the 6.4 in it as a SRT model in a couple years, which in turn will probably make it less "affordable". This would then directly compete with Mustang's GT500.

DCalready has a 6.4. Puts out 500HP (I think you can buy it as a crate engine). The new Viper engine (2008 model) is puting out 600HP, with a even newer version in the wings at 675HP waiting on Blue Devil.

DC does not care (to an extent) about Viper sales. They know it will not make money and accept that. Sort of like bananas. Stores make no money on them, but they sell them.

Back on topic.

You need a concept to build a new truck, takes 12 months to get a concept to production, well thereis no concept, hense you will not see a new 2009 Ram. It may get new lights, badging, maybe even a 6.1, but it will not be a total new design. Some of the pics people have offered in this post are of the Rampage, which is not a Ram, but a Rampage. It has been around for years and most likely will not make production, and if it did it would be as a new line, not a Ram replacement, sort of like Chevy's Avalanche to Silverado.

I will completely disagree with you. The "concept" will debut at the 2008 detroit auto show. It will have a new body, and interior. The chassis has already been updated. Believe it or not the 2007 chassis is totally different than the 2006. They were new mandates for 2007. So instead of modifying an old platform they just brought the new oneinearly and modified it to fit the current body. Warren Truck is currently undergoing a massive body shop expansion to build the DS model. The current ram is the DR. The DS will be out in 2009. I don't know what it looks like since I no longer work at thetruck plant. Besides its too early for pilots.

They have to come out with something new and will. None of the big three are going to let Toyota stay on top very long.
