Default electronic throttle control ETC on dash

Hi and Happy New Year to you all!
2007 2.0/CVT had to be towed home today. No Codes, runs very rough now that it is home but when wife on MassPike it quit, wouldn't restart.
The dash indicator throttle body with electronic lightning (sort looking) was on steady.
I have had the gas pedal/module recall done two years ago but all I can guess from reading is the throttle module is worn out...no codes though!
Any ideas I should look at before I buy a throttle body/module?
Greatly appreciate, Richie

Season's Greetings.
You could have a dirty throttlebody, that causes the throttle blade to stick in the build-up. This will throw it into limp mode to prevent an accident.

It could also be that the throttlebody has gone bad as well.

Have you tried unhooking the battery for a few hours to see if resetting the PCM helps any?

yes I did disconnect battery for the resets & checked battery on load meter, low voltage it does run poorly. Found many referring to bad throttle body units...the gear on the butterfly--wears out teeth. I took it out and apart and yes the gear teeth are missing around the idle area where the servo works. $196 shipped MoPar online, took about an hour to get it out..no biggie. Thanks

Default its back-limp mode

Whats up? It ran great for a week now the throttle electronic icon on the dash back on and flashing (#17 in your owners manual dash explanation).
It will run right for a short while then goes into "limp" mode.
Still, no codes! I don't get it, even in limp mode or just at idle it is rough and you would think at least a "miss-fire" code.
AAA has taken it to a dealer today, see what is found out is wrong that way, we need it dependable again.
P.S. I did say that I took the cover off the old throttle body and does have
teeth torn-up on the gear that's on the butterfly.

HMMM, must be a different issue. Perhaps the TPS sensor in the pedal assembly. That wouldn't really explain the misfire though.

Default dealer repair

Got the car back last night.
What he found was several codes which referred to the throttle body module, none codes for the accelerator pedal.
Updates done for ECU and tranny controls (flash).
He double checked that the plug on the throttle body control was secure...he has seen that rubber seal "roll" somewhat and the connection was poor.
Because this an on & off problem he drove it home two nights to see if it would act-up, no problems.
Wife took it to work this morning.
P.S. my Actron CP9145 read none of these codes the dealer found. I did not clear codes (even though I did not see any).

There are some codes that a aftermarket scanner may not read. They are manufacturer specific. Their STAR tools can access everything in the system.

Hopefully the updates will cure the issue.

Default no problems-began second week on the road

After dealer re-flashed ECU, CVT processor with "up-grades". Other than fine now, it is quieter now, noticeable on cold mornings ( near 0 F).
Besides the re-flashing, I replaces throttle body unit and the PCV (there was some oil on the butterfly of the old throttle).
