Hey just curious..... I ordered mine in may and still havent got it .....is anyone eles in the same situation

 

I am. I placed the order with the dealer on 4/22/06 but Dodge showed it giong in on 5/1/06 (of course that's all messed up now with the order change over and it shows ordered on 6/5/06). I've gotten the VIN but the car has been sitting in "D" status for 7 weeks now. Just today Customer Service told me there is a hold on the order even though my salesman couldn't find anything on that. Guess I'll just keep calling and asking "where's my car?"

 

I ordered my Caliber on May 1st, but had to wait a month for an allocation so the Caliber shows as being ordered on June 5th, which is when I got the allocation. On June 5th, my status went from BX to D where it currently sits. So I've been in D status since June 5th, 5 weeks and counting so far.

 

Same here, ordered May 1st, just last week wen't from bg to bx status. I'm figuring mid September I'll get mine...maybe longer...who the hell knows anymore...[&o]

 

Sounds like you're still waiting on a dealer allocation..... Usually they go into D status once you have an allocation unless the parts to build a Caliber like you order isn't available.

 

Right now my dealer has four R/T's thats been sitting on lot now for three weeks, a yellow, two red, and a black one. I tell you this, if the black one had at least the musicgate package in it, I would cancel my order get the black R/T instead!

 

Well, it looks like I'm gaining a little ground as my Caliber went into "D" status as of 8/3. Wow, 14 frickin weeks sitting in BG/BX status, so much for wanting to enjoy a new car for the summer...the really sad part about all this is the fact my $2200 wheel package were purchased with the intent of only using them in the summer months. Custom rims + Minnesota road salt = wear/tear/uglieness, no thank you!

 

Ordered mine on April 26, missed the 2006.5 cutoff, so had to start over. Second week of July, it was in "D" status, and it's still there as of today, so at least it's been allocated, and scheduled to be built. He's thinking late September at the earliest. It's a chance you take with a small-town dealer with low allocations, but hell, I waited 7 months for my first PT Cruiser, and my trade in isn't going to be worth all that much less if it takes a couple more months. As long as it gets here before the snow flies, I'll be happy, although I'm like everyone else, would like to have my car. If I could stand red paint and cloth seats, the dealer has a R/T on his lot, but I'll wait for my blue R/T with leather. Patience, everyone, they will build them, and eventually, they will come.

 

That means your dealer FINALLY got an allocation for August and your order took up one of them! Congrats! Just so you know, I went to D status on June 5th, and my order still as of today sits in D status. The guy I talked to at the Chrysler Customer Center said that the build plans for the next week or 2 come out this coming Monday so I'm hoping my order goes into D1 Status. Otherwise my order has been in D status for 2 months so far. So its gotta be getting close to going to D1 status.

Once it goes to D1 status then I'm going to purchase some Goodyear Assurance Triple-tread tires for my Caliber. Those are about the best tires you can get for the Caliber's 17" Aluminum rims.

I told my dealer today, if I don't have my car by 11/1, I'm canceling. No if, and, or buts! I tell you, these past three months I've been looking at other brands that get pretty good gas mileage, that kind of in my budget, and look super sharpe, becoming more appealing to me. Them Pontiac G6 GT Coupes and the Mitsubishi Eclipse have been on my mind a lot lately. Friend of mine came over the other day in her brand new Eclipse GT, and let me tell you, I was very impressed! There a bit more than I want to spend, but the MPG are pretty similar and there heck of a lot more sporty than the Calibers! Right now, onlt time will tell...
