Airbag light lit, what to check before costly dealer service?
#14
I have a 2005 Grand Caravan, 3.8L and had the problem with the ABS light continually on. I also noticed that the track control is off and was unable to switch them on. After connecting a scanner, it came up with a failure related to the EGR valve. I replaced the valve and the ABS fault dissappeared (this happened about year ago). Yesterday I took my van to be detailed and have the engine washed (ready for shippment back to US) and the ABS light came on again. I thought it could be water or moisture getting in the valve connector. I tried to dry the covalve connectors but the the fault is still present and the same problem of not being able to turn on the track control. Any suggestions???

I'm sorry to hear about your airbag light concern. A diagnosis will determine what is responsible for its illumination.
You may enter you Vehicle Identification # at the website below in order to determine if there are any outstanding recalls on you van.

Hey guys...just my two cents worth. Usually you will get a specific code for clock spring (not 100% sure you would on a Dodge) however if your horn honks and any other steering wheel controls work it most likely not the clock spring as any clock spring I have seen break its thin plastic ribbon with the conductors on it will break them all and nothing on the steering wheel will work.
