I have a 94 Dodge Caravan 3.3 2wd with tranny problems. Most of the time lately it will not shift at all. When it first started it would jerk back and forth while driving and I thought it was running out of gas, but then it would shift right for a bit and then it stopped shifting all together. My son took out the egr valve and tried to clean that and put it back in and it shifted some. I do not know if this has anything to do with it or not, but would love to be able to drive this thing. I got it given to me when a friend died so moneywise Im not losing anything but my son says he thinks also it might be ready for the junk yard. Any ideas on what it could possibly be, ASAP !!!

 

You need to hook up scanner and ck for codes from the body connector, that under the dash on the left side. It will be a blue connector, and engine connector is under the hood. You could have a misfire, but that wouldn't stop the trans from shifting. There maybe a problem with trans, but without any codes, I wouldn't be much help.
