2001 Dodge GC 3.3 Stalling after full warmup
Hi,
I have a Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3 Sport...
In the summer months after a full warm up with AC on the van seem to either shutter or stall.. I let the van idle and the fans do turn on when i have the A/C running.. I did replace the Temp Sensor and Thermostat and no difference. Would this be my transmission over heating??
This only happens if the Temp out side is above 70 degres
Any help please or steps to fix this problem

Hi,
This happens when the ac is off also.. It seems the van is over heating, but the fans do come on with the temp gauge is at the half mark.. but as soon as the temp gauge goes to center, it starts stalling and acting as it is over heating..
I let is sit for about 15 minutes to cool down and it runs fine until it happens again..

It may be simple and over looked.
And it doesn't address the overheating symptoms.
But, I'll mention the internal throttle body cleaning.
It is a common stalling problem at full temperture on the 3.3 and 3.8 and has been mentioned many times on this site.
Mostly at idle and all running well.
Buy a spray can and follow instructions.
Is the overheating symptoms only the stalling and cool down?
Good Luck.

I never cleaned that and never thought that could be it...
Why spray should I buy?
The stalling only happens at full warmup. stalling happens when i come to a stop. when it stalls, I have trouble going again.. i wait 10 minutes for it to cool down and it runs fine until it warms-up again..

I didnt have the cool down and warmup period.
But all else sounds right.
The throttle body cleaner can be bought at any auto parts store. Gumout, etc.
Make sure its designed to go into the carb.
Disconnect the plastic intake up to the carb.
Follow the instructions on the can carefully and go to town cleaning it out.
Shoot it deep down the carb and into the manifold.
Also check for any trouble codes, also.
Good Luck.
