What kind of speakers do you have? Because the speakers that came with the van may have amps, build into the speakers. The new radio maybe loosing the 12 volt feed to the amps. Or you may want to reck your connection.

i have the original speaker, so dunno if there is an amp on em, but i know that on the orginal radio there was a wire specially for amp, that i dont need for the new pioneer radio
i read on a forum that i should plug the constant 12v on the 2 wire that needed volatge, n leave the switched wire from the car unplugged, guess ill try that.
I also tried to completley deplug the illumination wire from the radio, without any change on the result

oki i checked the +12v switched n constant, wire, they still have +12v when i put my light on..tried to connect directly the radio on the battery...problem still there..i prolly have an amp apart of the old radio, having a wire in the back of the old radio, inscribed amp on it...tried to grnd it..no effect, tried to connect it to an external amp wired on the new radio...still no sound, is there a way to disable the amp if they r directly on the speaker?
tks
