Default Rear Wiper Removal

Old question but the answer needs repeating, especially this winter. My Dodge Caravan, the rear wiper blade does not exert enough pressure on the window to clean it. I believe the spring in the wiper arm must have gotten too weak to do the job. I would like to know how one goes about removing the wiper arm so that the spring can be lubed or replaced (or the entire wiper arm for that matter). Thanks in advance.

Depends on the year, some had a lock under the joint and some have a nut the holds it down. The one with nut, you need to remove the black cap and take the nut off.

Default Lube it up

I'll try to lub it as best I can. Figured I'd have to remove it to do that effectively.

Default Wiper Arm

If no nu,t take a close look at the base of the arm where it goes onto the splined shaft and you will see a clip that must be pulled down to unlock he arm.

the darn thing moves like 30° on the pivot like the blade can pull away from the glass about 5" if yall can figure out the pull and push on her then thers sumthing wrong. and if she moves ez before lubing then maybe the spring is weak, I seen a bunch of these rear arms bond to the shaft and they had to be cut off with a die grinder so hope yall aint runnning into that prob.

I tried to pivot the arm this morning. Without much effort it would only pivot say 5 degrees, less than 1 inch from the glass. If it is capable of pivoting 5 inches then I will try and work it free. Thank you.

It pulled easy and snapped back, but I only went an inch or so. I'll pull thru the resistance tonight, lube with PB Blaster, and hope that I do not snap the spring. thx for all your advice.
