I am having my water pump replaced in our 05 SXT Caravan. It was leaking and was getting coolant all over the serpentine belt. They said I should get the belt replaced as well. Is this necessary?

Any info would be appreciated.

No, only if it is worn and starting to crack. Only if it was saturated for a long time would it make noise. Only your first water pump?

 

If the fan belt has been soak with coolant, yes replace it or you will have a belt noise.
